Least Playoff Appearances Franchises Draft - Semi - Snakebites vs Dr Positivity*

Post#1 » by durantbird » Sat Nov 9, 2024 8:10 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Please ensure you give a rationale for your vote; votes with no explanation will not be counted.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

GL Snakebites

Defensive matchups: Deron on Cassell, Vince on Jones, Lebron on Butler, Love on Gasol, Chandler on Brand.

- We have the best player in the series by a lot and with Deron/Vince beside him our perimeter should be hard to stop.

- Cassell is old on D and Deron can take advantage of him, Butler if he guards Vince will take defensive energy. While Cassell/Brand is a great PNR pair, Deron and Love is great as well as the latter is like a 3pt shooting version of Boozer, they can play the minutes Lebron sits. Butler's low 3pt slashing game is just a passable fit beside the Cassell/Brand game in my opinion.

- Our bench has slight advantage due to the chemistry Delly and Korver have with Lebron.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Alrighty lets do this.

Always tough going against a Lebron team here, but I think that I match up fairly well here.

Defensively I think I’ve got one of the only teams in this game with enough size to go toe to toe, position to position here- his big front line trio won’t be able to bully mine, as all three of my guys are solid defenders comparable in size to who they are up against. Tyson Chandler is the weak link in this offense and means I’ll have full use of Gasol’s terrific run protection in this particular matchup.

Cassell is admittedly our weak link defensively, but while I’ll concede that I’ll counter that I don’t really see that matchup as an overall win for Dr P- I think I prefer this version of Sam to that version of Deron, and also think Deron’s role in a game where Lebron and VC will be creating most of the time is ill defined. I think he ends up in the corner a lot here.

My bench isn’t a particularly strong one but I don’t think “synergy with Lebron” puts his over the top here either. Korver and Miller have comparable roles and outside of the backup centers 2015 Delly is comfortably the worst player in this series.

I like Snake's team in a vacuum and I think he matches up fairly well here, but I don't think he has the necessary firepower to contend with a team led by LeBron (surrounded by enough juice as well). None of Cassell/Butler/Brand really even sniff his level of impact. It's a bit overly simplified, but I think Snake would need to have a bonafide superstar here to compete.

Agree with wack. Sorry but Snake's team might just hit the cap here. Missing on better top end talent probably sealed the deal here.

Don't want to vote as I could face the winner, but I will if there's no movement by noon.

I think Dr P has the advantage in terms of both talent and fit. Butler is a poor man's LeBron. At the same time, Snake's top 2 scorers are interior-oriented players. While Brand may operate as a roll man, he also creates his own shots off the dribble. This means he'd be taking the ball away from Butler. Dr P has a non-shooter in Chandler, but he's strictly a rim runner. He feeds off LeBron and vice versa. That's not the case with Butler and Brand making it easier for opposing teams to wall the paint against them.

Didn’t expect to reach the semis with this team.
