Dwight Howard Draft - Play in - Jon_3232 vs lilroddyb*

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

C: Hakeem Olajuwon 38 min / Al Horford 10 min
Pf: Al Horford 28 min / Robert Horry 20 min
Sf: Clyde Drexler 38 min / Jonathan Isaac 10 min
Sg: Reggie Miller 38 min / Manu Ginobili 10 min
Pg: Manu Ginobili 26 min / George Hill 22 min

1993 Hakeem Olajuwon 19.5
2005 Manu Ginobili 10.5
1995 Reggie Miller 13.5
2018 Al Horford 10.5
1991 Clyde Drexler 16.3
2000 Robert Horry 4.8
2024 Jonathan Isaac 4.9
2012 George Hill 7.6

Tfga: 88

Everyone in the starting lineup is at the their peaks or really close to it and most of them played multiple playoff series and thrived in them. Hakeem has one of the greatest peak in history and the team is build to maximize his impact. Great spacing around him with everyone being great or decent threepoint shooter outside of Drexler and Hakeem.

Manu and Clyde can get anywhere on the court and they will run the offense. I don't think I need a pg in the starting lineup because of them. Clyde avereged during the playoffs close to a triple double with 21 pts, 8.1 assists, 8.1 rebounds on 56 ts%, 2.1 stl and 1 blk

Reggie Miller also raised his game during the playoffs like he always does with 25.5 pts on 63 ts%

Defense

everyone on my team is a great defender outside of Reggie Miller.

Hakeem and Al Horford guard Ben Wallace and Giannis. both can switch and help the other out when Giannis drives into the paint

Clyde Drexler on Magic, He has the size and Strength to atleast bother him somewhat

Reggie Miller on Iggy

Manu on Ray Allen

overall

Jon build a great team and it's really talented but so is mine even if he has two of the best players in Magic/Giannis vs HAkeem but I think Manu, Reggie and Clyde and great bench makes it even talentwise

but I think my fit is better. Giannis is playing with Ben Wallace and Iggy who is spotty threepoint shooter so I think we can build a wall with Hakeem and Al Horford closing the paint against Giannis

I think my fit is excellent and no one is stepping on each other toes so the speak

best of luck Jon

Gameplan here is to overwhelm with pace, length, and my defensive versatility. With Magic controlling the tempo, he can push the ball in transition and take advantage of Giannis’s unmatched speed and finishing at the rim, while Ray Allen and Rashard space the floor. Defensively, Ben Wallace bodies up Hakeem while Giannis provides elite help defense, forcing Hakeem to work for every shot. Iguodala and Christie are elite wing stoppers to help neutralize Drexler and Manu, cutting off their slashing and playmaking. Reggie’s shooting is dangerous, but we’ve got athleticism and length to chase him off screens and contest consistently.
