Carmelo Anthony Draft - CHAMPIONSHIP - Mr Ringer vs Laimbeer**

Post#1 » by durantbird » Tue Sep 30, 2025 12:36 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

Chris Paul 20' - 13.7 (OKC)
Kobe Bryant 09' - 20.9 (LAL)
Nicolas Batum 14' - 10.0 (POR)
Evan Mobley 25' - 12.8 (3rd pick)
Yao Ming 09' - 13.4 (HUO)

Mark Jackson 91' - 7.1 (benched AS)
Michael Potter Jr. 20' - 7.0 (DEN)
Isiah Hartenstein 23' - 4.0 (NYK)

87.9/80

Paul 35\Jackson 13
Kobe 38\Batum 5\Jackson 5
Batum 30\MPJ 18
Mobley 38\MPJ 10
Yao 38\IHart 10

Defensive assignments:
CP3 on Porter, Kobe on tatum, Mobley on Jokic, playing on switches

I'm not going semi-personal with DPOY Mobley covering Jokic, quick, mobile, big and physical he should limit The Joker just fine. Yao will cover the paint mainly with the rest covering a more perimeter spot
Kobe as a super-defender taking Tatum to schoo as his main defender.

Offense is much simpler.
CP3 will lead the way and manage the system, set the tempo and find the other guys.
Kobe can score from any position and any defender who'll be thrown at him.
With Jokic as a limited-defensive single big men, Yao and Mobley will run riot inside.
Mobley can also go out and in and create from the post, and with clear physical advantage over DFS he should do just fine providing an extra.
Batum is unstoppable, simply for the defense can't contain 4 big stars and still cover such an efficient scorer and shooter.

My bench makes the differences real present
I have the deepest team and bench with three dangerous versatile players.

A team of 5 elite players, offensively and defensively. Who proved themselves as singles and thrive in systems. With bench to emphasize all my pros.

Good luck Laimbeer

Nikola Jokić ( 2023 ) 14.8 - DEN MVP (1)
Dorian Finney-Smith ( 2025 ) 6.9 - LAL 41.1% on 5.0 3PA
Jayson Tatum ( 2024 ) 19.3 - 3rd MVP (6)
Ray Allen ( 2005 ) 19.2 - OKC MVP (9)
Terry Porter ( 1991 ) 11.7 - POR MVP (9)

Anthony Mason ( 1995 ) 6.6 - NYK 6MOY (1)
Dan Majerle ( 1998 ) 6.1 - B/AS 37.6% on 4.1 3PA
Brent Barry ( 2009 ) 3.1 - HOU 37.4% on 2.3 3PA

87.7

Nikola Jokić (38) / Anthony Mason (10)
Dorian Finney-Smith (36) / Anthony Mason (12)
Jayson Tatum (38) / Dan Majerle (10)
Ray Allen (38) / Dan Majerle (10)
Terry Porter (38) / Brent Barry (10)

Good luck Mr. Ringer

Our offense around Jokic is pretty ridiculous. Spacing all around with Tatum, Allen, and Porter all capable off-ball players who can put pressure on a defense. Yao just standing in the paint with Jokic setting up our deadly perimeter is a five alarm fire.

Neither Kobe or Paul is an off-ball player, so their best threats offensively step on one another. Yao has no range so there's going to two very large bodies gumming things up. Jokic/Yao, Tatum/Mobley, Allen/Batum, DFS/Kobe, Porter/Paul is pretty solid.

This comes down to a better fit for our offense and Yao struggling mightily against a five out lineup.

1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later

4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
