Team Direction
I probably started off as the best team in the league, however the payroll I had was ridicusly high for the current economic climate where facing. What I have done is have gotten rid of every player from the team that was on it and have made it a young competitive team that can fight for the division and a top 3 spot in the western conference.

We have left ourselves with enough caproom to add on some pieces if we believe that we are close to championship contention. This team has a young core of Blake, Wade, Cook, Jones, Bynum, and Fesenko. We do also have a veteran presence in Hedo, Jamison and Dampier in the starting lineup that can hopefully let us contend within the western conference as the best team.

We belive the key to our team long term will be our back court combo of blake and wade who we feel can only make each other better.

Goal for 2010/2011
Play competitive basketball have home court advantage in the playoffs and see how far Dwade can take us. We believe ww DO HAVE THE BEST TEAM that is right at the Salary Cap we have only spent 58M for the team we have put together.

Future
Continuing adding pieces here and there, maybe we can ship Hedos expiring for some longer term contracts that can take this team to the next level, and then in the following year do the same with Jamison’s contract

Why My Team IS BETTER
Well in all honesty the team I started off was better but had too many salary commitments, KOBE was due for a massive increase, Bynum extension kicked in and in all honestly hasn’t shown that he deserves it, Gasol was trade so I could trade away other overpaid scrubs with him ie Walton, Vujacic, and AMMO. And com on a team with a payroll of 58M and has a realistic chance of being a top 3 team in the west is pretty good in my estimation.

Goals for the 2010-2011 Seasons
Make the playoffs. We've had 1 1/2 seasons of rebuilding and giving our youth time to grow. Now we've added some veterans to the mix who are key for the building process and can give us the depth to lead us to a playoff berth. It's important to give this young Wizards squad a taste of what the playoffs are about so that we can contend strongly in the future. We're also the type of team that can do some damage in the playoffs, with the ability to wreck havoc with our offensive attack.

Improvements for the present
Frankly, my team isn't built to win now. The veterans are here to leave their mark on a group of prospects in need of some mentors. Guys like Z, Nash, Fisher are all past their primes but can leave a very positive influence on the numerous young players on the squad. I still think this team is very competitive and we all play to win, but this team likely isn't going to win the championship this season. I am definitely thinking this is a playoff team though, with a beast in the middle in Blake Griffin and plenty of talented shooters/defenders around him.

Improvements for the future
When I took over, there was lots of uncertainty regarding Agent 0 and the fate of the once high flying Wizards. A high pick was on it's way, but could that high pick contribute to a team with enough talent to go deep in the playoffs? I don't personally think that Arenas will be back to 100% or that the Wizards will have enough talent to compete for a title at the moment, even with the addition of Mike Miller. I decided early that I wanted to go young and cheap, so my first big trade was acquiring Beasley, a very versatile offensive weapon who would definitely be a good match to whoever I acquired in the draft.

Then I landed the 1st overall pick, which was a pretty easy selection, but it created some problems. It meant Beasley had to be dealt, and at the time I worked towards Arenas/Jamison deals that offered massive cap relief as well as future prospects. I believe throughout the course of this game until now, many of my individual moves could be looked at as stupid in terms of how the deal looks now. But it was all done in order to cut costs in a time of great economic uncertainty, while acquiring cost efficient young players that could bring the team massive success in the future. To land prospects like Thaddeus Young, Brandon Rush, Courtney Lee, Monta Ellis and others leaves this team looking like a contender for years to come. Plus, we've got the cap space to add a few other large pieces in free agency ($25M cap space next offseason + this core = win).

Concluding Thoughts
This squad is young, energetic and exciting heading into the future, while remaining as excellent value money-wise. But it's not all about pinching pennies, we made a big run in the 2010 FA market, signing Brandon Roy to an offer sheet (which was matched). We have the funds available to make runs at FAs in the future and are much better off than the teams that threw everything at LeBron/Kobe and did whatever it took to acquire the cap space to get them. This team is going to be together for years to come and it's definitely got dynasty potential.
