I've never liked Barkley and while I do admire Reggie, pairing him with Barkley and Smits to my mind isn't a great formula. But, Smits falling was huge; he may not be the perfect center for this team but the next alternative was Kevin Willis or Mark West -- neither of whom wins any matchups at all. And being able to get Kenny Smith and Mario Elie was the other big break; they let me harp on efficiency and playoff performance over and over to drown out the dread cries of "But Barkley (and Miller and Smits and Kenny Smith) is going to get absolutely toasted defensively"

I'll have a thread for 75 posted by Friday. Thanks again to everyone who participated!

A team built in the manner that yours was would never survive in an ATL format, or even in the context of many individual seasons.

But in this particular season the premium on offensive efficiency and overall ability in that regard was arguably larger than the premium on solid defensive players, so ultimately a team in this way was allowed to succeed.

I agree that Cellar's team probably would have beaten this one. I wasn't sold on penbeast's team over TMAC's either, but after that the matchups penbeast had favored him.
