win future, sure i can see that, but win now? are you kidding me?

I'm also confused about Dallas on this one... 3 of his starters have never had a .5 season in their career and all of a sudden they go to number 2 seed?

I'm open to debate, talk to me and try and sway my decision. In my eyes, Dallas has phenomenal balance in terms of building around Dirk Nowitzki, whereas you may have the better talent overall (Gasol/Durant is clearly a fantastic duo), but both Parker/Iguodala are players who are effective at the helm of a team. I don't exactly see how this is a simple decision. You'd be better suited bringing up actual points, rather than simply complaining without any evidence to back-up the way you feel.

is what it is

I felt the teams at the top of the West have some of the very best young talent in the league and also have pieces that can be shipped out if needed to boot. I didn't just look at who had only young assets when making my choices.

Tony Parker is a better "win now" player then Kirk, both prolly even for win future

Iggy is a better "win now" player then Kmart, both prolly even for win future

KD is a better "win now" player then Gay, KD is/will the third best player in the league.

Gasol is arguably a better "win now" player then Dirk (this one to me is the only one arguable)

Kaman is a better "win now" player then Lopez, obviously lopez is clearly the better "win future player"

and Jamison is a better "win now" player then what ever "win future" player he puts out at his "6th man"...... LOL does he even have a true 6th man?

its not even close. sure he has good balance but his team Minus dirk is pretty much built for the future.

^A few posters have talked to me about this and feel I've made the wrong decision. But they're doing a better job of selling your own team than you are, using the head to head comparison and simply saying player A is a better win now player than player B is a poor way to sell me on your team. Key considerations in a team getting a higher ranking than another:

1. Defense
2. Balance
3. Talent level

You'e done a good job addressing the talent level issue, now sell on my on your team being better defensively and having better balance than that of Dallas.

Okay, ive never been a fan of rebuttle's, never have, never will be...

you've made your choice, if you change your mind, you change your mind.

ive stated my case through my write up and throw my "mini rebuttle" here.

Clearly, i mean clearly my team is better for win now, and honestly i think even dallas would admit himself that my team is better in that category.

the choice is yours my friend.

either way im gonna get 2nd in the west no matter how the pie is cut, and honestly im happy with that.

Clearly?

Its obvious that bryant08 didn't just look at who's got the most talented roster. This isn't fantasy basketball. It is assembling a team that will work well together, not just accumulating the best talent.

Guys look at what each team started out with. Simply saying at this stage team X is better then team Y doesn't make sense, unless the team's were fairly even in terms of talent/trade chips/etc. to being with.

When simply looking at who wins for the future, it does.

When I do my user ratings, then it becomes a very different animal.

and Bryant's got every right to put Dallas up there. I considered it.

I'd just like to mention i started off with the oldest team in the league. Had a ton of really bad expensive contracts. Started at around 85million went down about 10million to 75million. I now have a young team with a great core, and excellent balance every which way.But i won't really argue that his lineup is better than mine at a few positions, but his team is lacking somethings.Like Shooting to spread out the floor for his bigs, idk i had something else lol but i forgot haha....It'll get to me, i'll post it when it does.

I wasn't directing my comment towards to the judges, I was directing it to the posters complaining. I've been fine with the rankings so far.

I might actually debate that. Sure you didn't get LeBron, but you have a more well-rounded team than real life Miami will. Nelson, Battier, Chandler are PERFECT role players for Wade and Bosh.

LeBron > Nelson, Battier, Chandler, the Bobcats, and the Flordia Marlins. He's that good.

Only one of those things has a ring. And oddly, I think that thing's entire payroll is less than what Lebron Grossed this season.
