PF – Smith(25)Humphries(23)
C - B.Lopez(34)Petro(13)

GOALS:
My goal was to take this team, that was floundering before the Williams trade and turn them into a competitive team. TO do this I had to give the Nets more cap flexibility while adding talent. I also wanted to build a team around the two stars in Harris and Lopez.

PG:
The point guard situation was great. I have Devin Harris and he is being backed up by one of the better backups in the league in Farmar. I added some veteran depth here by signing Watson.
SG:
I believe that Morrow is a perfect compliment to Harris he can shoot the three consistently. Farmar is also a quality shooter and should suffice as the backup. Also I drafted LaceDarius Dunn out of Baylor. While he is not ready to compete now he will be soon.
SF:
The situation was drab when I took over with Damion James starting. He is a quality prospect yet still needs some seasoning. I made a big trade and picked up Antawn Jamison who is a solid NBA player. He is also on an expiring contract. I drafted Kyle Singler who I think will quickly turn into a potent offensive player.
PF:
First off I was able to unload that horrid contract of Travis Outlaw. That deal was necessary for the progression of the Nets. At the PF position I wanted to find a player that will compliment Lopez. Josh Smith is perfect. He plays high quality defense and rebounds well. I also retained Kris Humphries and moved him to a reserve role where I believe he will flourish. I also have Joe Smith as a veteran big on the bench.
C:
Here there wasn’t much to change. Lopez is a stud and I wanted to keep him. Petro might be looked at as overpaid but he plays his role nicely and fits with this front court. Again I wanted some more veteran leadership so I added Etan Thomas.

I believe that this team is a very competitive NBA team and can compete for a playoff spot in the east which is better than their previous position of a bottom dweller.

Writeup

Started with

Chris Paul/Jerret Jack
Marco Belinelli/Willie Green
Trevor Ariza/Marcus Thornton/Quincy Pondexter
Davis West/Aaron Gray/David Andersen
Emeka Okafor/Jason Smith

Ended With

Rajon Rondo/Kirk Hinrich
Kevin Martin/Leandro Barbosa
Marcus Thornton/Carlos Delfino/Quincy Pondexter
Carl Landry/Aaron Gray/Brian Scalabrine
Emeka Okafor/Theo Ratliff/

So my goal when taking this team was to trade paul for a decent player, the same way that NJ traded Deron Williams. Only thing is I did it first, before Deron was Traded. Also no matter what you guys think I believe that Rondo > Paul. Dont get me wrong but Paul has a decent team around him in NO and they are not doing well while Rondo does have HOFmers with him hes still the heart of the team, without him they are the Miami Heat, actually worse.

You can see how scared teams are now that their star players will leave. Paul is not staying in NO when he becomes a FA, we all know this. Trading him now did the team good.

My team is a bit shallow at the 4 and 5, however. I am set for quite some time at PG as well as SG. As both Rondo and Martin are relatively young in the league. Marcus Thornton is also quite young and a very serviceable SG/SF win player. Along with him I have Delfino whos a decent Wing player as well. His shooting woes wont hurt me as much as Milwaukee because he should not be shooting as much with Rondo and Martin on the floor.

Also Kirk Hinrich has always been considered a great defender. Hes there to backup Martin mostly but let Rondo get a break as well. Similarly Barbosa can come in to play the two and guard 1s while Hinrich plays the 1 and guards the twos. Barbosa is the scoring option in my second unit. And hes a legit 20ppl player off the bench if the balls is given to him.

Carl Landry is a very servicible PF in this league. NOH traded Marcus Thornton to get him because they wanted David West insurance even though they will be both FA. Its suspected West will definitley be moving on from NOH in the same fashion that Paul will.

Okafor, for whatever reason has low value in this game. Probably because of his contract. However, his contrart means nothing to winning in the NBA and he fits well with my team. Hes there to play his 34 mins a game and create havoc in the C. Making teams jumpshooters is my goal and helps this. With Rondo I can force them to drive when he gets up on them. If they do Okafor is waiting on the inside.

Overall

I think the team definitely improved. And my salary structure is much better than it was with the real NOH.

Writeup
PG-
Brandon Knight, Beno Udrih, Mario Chalmers>Jameer Nelson, Jason Williams, Chris Duhon
IMO this is definately a slight win, we got a young pg for the future while saving some money in the position. Knight has shown some immense skill at the colegion level and we think that will travel over to the NBA.

SG-
Landry Fields, Gary Neal, Fransisco Garcia>>Jason Richardson, JJ Reddick, Gilberto Aenas
We saved around 14m in this position. Landry Fields has a massive upside and we believe he will be the perfect defensive wing for next to Wright.

SF-
Dorell Wright, Jonas Jerebko>>> Hedo Turkeyglue
Here we saved about 20m. Dorrel Wright is also just the best player of the group averaging close to 17 points on a stacked GSW team.

PF-
Perry Jones, Jason Thompson, Ronny Turiaf>>>Brandon Bass, Ryan Anderson
No question we won this one, Jones has the most upside of this coming draft class (maybe Irving), him and Cousins manning the middle will be the perfect combo for many years to come.

C-
Demarcus Cousins, Andris Biedrins<Dwight Howard
It was obvious Dwight will leave Orlando in 2012. We wanted to get the absolute best return for him. Cousins is one of the only remaining back to basket C (only young one). So in the circumstances, i do not see this as too big of a loss.

Money
We started with a absolutely terrible 90m dollar payroll. We saved 40m dollars, and upwards of $80m including lux tax. This was one of our best moves, and the Magic association has decided not to sue Otis Smith these costs thanks to my savings.

Overall
IMO Dwight is gonna leave in 2012. We have set up the perfect rebuilding situation so the franchise does not suffer in the future. We maged to save ALOT of money and get a solid team aswell. We belive they can win a championship within 5 years.
