Really my only issue with the past games in these scenarios is that the draft is just so utterly anticlimactic with perfect information.

I think this game isn't taking off sadly, despite 15 or so of us really wanting it to work. It's just not getting enough interest. The contraction really just papers over the cracks.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Yeah, i have to agree with Lukekarts. I was part of the contraction movement, yes, but after thinking about it, it doesn't look like a good idea. We really need to figure out what to do, before we start signing up for something again.

A draft of the contracted teams would be a new twist. First round would be allstars but after that more strategic.

I do believe knowing what happens is a detriment in stimulating the game. I hate to throw it in and I am willing to use the teams we created - send in the updated rosters (including what 2003 picks they have) on our 2nd teams and those teams whose GMs have not participated or withdrawn and do a 2003 draft follow by a contraction draft. The 3 commish's - Joe. blackice and Kees just rank teams - no write ups etc for draft orders and continue with the contraction wrinkle to look forward to.

I predicted the "history" issue would be a problem, but with this aspect and maintaining the active players it could work. Having all the team just starting (today) was getting more action - of course I had Gasol.

If Joe is willing to tweak the contraction deal (no hard cap needed - but he will have to figure what to do with draft picks still on the contraction teams) and everyone sends the update rosters - let's finish this with the extra draft. Otherwise - Thanks for trying. 3 GM have my vote to do whatever they can to salvage the game and I will play on.

I like how it's going in terms of the trades and up coming FAs. We could maybe shorten or speed up this game until 03-04 is completed and then we can start up a current season one?

The other thing we could do is continue the game, but the people with one team take two. That would be a full 29 teams. The other is the empty teams become FA's. The ideal situation is we get 5 new GM's.

Ok it looks like for this game, we will keep on track. Try and find replacements for RR9's teams, and ATL, and maybe others we haven't heard from (HOU?). We will finish out this game as normal, then probably go back to the normal, current game after this.

I think this is best for everyone for now, even if we have a few teams that are inactive.

A current era game would be nice. I'm good with continuing with the 02/03 game. I like how I'm rebuilding my team so far

Im not sure about contraction
