The Jordan Era Draft - Signups

Draft rules:

1. Subject to the rules to be set out below, you may select any player from seasons in which Michael Jordan also played at least one NBA game. This means every year from Jordan's rookie season (1984-85) to his final season (2002-03) is eligible, with the exception of 1993-94 (first retirement) and 1998-99 to 2000-01 (second retirement). Please note Jordan himself is also eligible.

2. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players. Each of your players must play a minimum of 8 minutes in your rotations.

3. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 85.0 FGA corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player.

4. Each player you select must have played at least 50% of regular season games in the season selected.

5. We will be doing a modified snake draft. It will go like this: ABBABABA

6. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, or if the player you have chosen is ineligible, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.

7. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT.

8. Draft order will be completely randomized.

9. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet. Please note that the clock starts whenever the previous drafter has either made their pick or their two-hour window has expired, even if the next person is not quoted.

10. The winner of the draft will be determined by rankings, playoffs, or hybrid (depending on numbers).

Team Roster Page Rules:

You will be responsible for creating a roster page for your fantasy team. Here are the things that you will be required to include on your roster page:

. Players
. Rotations
. Draft selections
. The most important of all, you must show the total FGA per player on your roster AND a total sum of each players FGA to display that it is under the required 85.0 FGA

-All of the above must be completed before rankings begin.

Looks like this will be another struggle. I'll give it until tomorrow and if things don't improve I'll just cancel it.

Yeah, those are the breaks these days, it seems.

Wouldn't be the first time these games have died and later returned.

I don't think the specific idea makes a difference at this stage. It's been several months and we just aren't getting much interest in anything. Regardless of how simple or complex the game is, or what period it covers, we're generally happy to crack double figures, let alone 16. Doesn't help that a few regulars like Laimbeer, poop, and 8on are out of the mix right now, but it was tough sledding even when they were around.

At some point this board is probably going to become completely dormant for an extended period. I'm already beginning to lose interest myself with these games being so understaffed, and the guys who aren't playing may find their time can be spent a lot more productively.

That’s certainly why I stopped for an extended period of time, and was probably going to return to dormancy after this game.

I just can’t go at it like I used to. I don’t have the time or the same level of interest that I once did.

Generally I use these games to fill the time that already isn't being used productively. I also have a short attention span and often find myself doing four or five things at once (which I am right now).

My interest is definitely on the wane these days though. Even during the last championship game I was barely bothered about the outcome.

Same. Least excited I’ve ever been to win one, despite it being the first win in ages.

I’m not a big fan of this idea... I can join if it will start, but I’ll be busy at the beginning

You'd still only make eight. I'd need to see at least 11 or 12 before I'd even consider starting it, otherwise I won't bother.
