Big City draft SF - MadNESS vs Dr Positivity (Dr Positivity advances)

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Wed Jan 26, 2022 9:17 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

**First to 3 votes advances. If neither team has 3 votes after 24 hours, first to 2 votes advances, provided we aren't already tied 2-2.**

Reggie Evans (2012-2013) 3.3 FGA

*Simmons / JET can both start at PG depending on match ups.

Write up:

Good luck Dr. P…

Kobe goes HAM here.
Jet provides spacing in the SL and keeps Wall honest.
Tmac is a great second option and keeps Kawhi busy for sure.
Rodman can guard AD no problem.
This is past his peak Marc Gasol.
Simmons / Posey of the bench is very nice!

PG: John Wall (2015: 14.8 FGA)
SG: Shane Battier (2009: 5.9 FGA)
SF: Kawhi Leonard (2019: 18.8 FGA)
PF: Anthony Davis (2020: 17.7 FGA)
C: Marc Gasol (2020: 6.3 FGA)

PG/SG: Charlie Ward (2001: 6.1 FGA)
SG: Terance Mann (2021: 5.2 FGA)
PF/C: Pau Gasol (2009: 12.9 FGA)

FGA: 87.7 / 88

PG: John Wall (38) / Charlie Ward (10)
SG: Shane Battier (34) / Charlie Ward (14)
SF: Kawhi Leonard (38) / Terance Mann (10)
PF: Anthony Davis (38) / Pau Gasol (10)
C: Marc Gasol (20) / Pau Gasol (28)

MadNESS has flawed offensive roster with Simmons, Kobe, Tmac spacing and Rodman and Howard as frontcourt. Our defense is excellent with Kawhi on Tmac, Battier on Kobe, Wall on Simmons and great defensive frontcourt in Davis and Gasol. AD will be able to stay near the rim and block a lot of shots along with our perimeter D. Gasol and Davis have 3pt range that will drag Rodman and Howard out.

Offensively our team makes more sense with Wall/Davis, Kawhi at his peak, and good shooters around. We have an all-star off the bench in Pau to match Simmons. Our team is more balanced on offense with perimeter and big man stars. He does not have a great answer for Kawhi with Tmac on him.

Madness has too much fire power - even with Dr's defensive prowess. you need to be able to score and I think Ness wins in an long series -

4-3 Madness

Ditto my previous comments about Ness's team, and then throw in the fact that Dr P has even more interior size to clog up the paint and even better covers for Kobe and T-Mac.

Starting Marc seems like kind of a pointless move but Pau is getting his 38 minutes regardless.

I've got Ness with a better starting lineup. When Simmons joins Kobe and TMac, that could be special. I don't love Wall as a point guard in these.

This will be really close. Madness has a huge team and it's extremely physical and will get bunch secondary chances to score through rebounds, defense and Kobe will have some high scoring games but the spacing is still an issue for me. Dr P has the better fit and really talented as well. I think the offense will flow better overall for Dr P

Benching Simmons is a reasonable adjustment by Ness, but I still think he's built a dysfunctional team due to having bad spacing and relying on 2 iso-heavy scorers.
