with the last trade, the Jazz now have under $70m in salary+capholds, giving us the option to use the FULL MLE.

Re: Christmas GMAT: 2013 FA
- Dwight Howard has agreed to a maximum contract with the Miami Heat.
- The deal will be in a sign and trade form with Los Angeles.
- Dwight wanted to help out Los Angeles in his departure.
- The new CBA states that the contract remains the same (for signing outright), but Miami wanted to work with Los Angeles in the deal.
Contract are as follows:
Year 1 - $20,513,178
Year 2 - $21,436,271 (923,093 increases)
Year 3 - $22,359,364
Year 4 - $23,282,457
Los Angeles will receive:
2014 Golden State lotto protected first
2016 Miami first (unprotected)
3,000,000
EDIT: plus a 20,513,178 dollar TPE.
Dwight loves the city of Miami and the chance to remain on a young, championship caliber team, with Russell Westbrook and Lebron James, along with Kenneth Faried. He loves the the state of Miami is a tax free state, and that he will get more touches on offense with this team. Dwight also loves the flexability with the Miami Heats payroll as well as the friendships he has with his new team. Miami is thrilled to have their new center.
Shout outs to Sambone, Karmaloop and Orange Parka, good working this out with everyone.

Re: Christmas GMAT: 2013 FA
^^^^There was no timeline placed on S&T's if the agent agrees
Also, RFA's can not be involved in a S&T if they sign an offer sheet for another team. It only makes sense that the team with the QO gets a chance to appeal to the player & the agent before an offer sheet is signed.

RFA officially opens up tomorrow for other team's to sign. However, RFA and other free agents are allowed to negotiate S&T.

What if you do not want to do a sign and trade and just sign the player to the max and leave it up to the other team if they want to match or get nothing (why give up assets when you dont have to). You may state the player may not want to play for the former team and not want to risk matching the offer. But with this game signing a player to the max forces the other team to make a big decision as you cannot trade a player once signing a player to the max (i think thats correct). Also who is to say someone with enough cap space wanted to offer Henderson a 4 year 45 million dollar deal tomorrow how would his agent know that if all offer are not sent in.
Usually a player picks a team he would like to sign for and give the former team a window to negoitate with the new team to try and get something in return. AKA Miami sending Cleveland Picks when Lebron choose South Beach

It's been updated quite frequently...if you see anything specific that may have been missed, post it.

I went and made all sorts of deals to clear cap to sign both Dwight and Paul, lost quite a bit of value in the process.

Yeah, I cleared cap space too and made a run at them both. I knew it was a longshot. I'm just glad I didn't leave my cupboard bare.
