I wanted a floor spacer at center as that is recipe for winning.

Was trying to nab some good fitting pieces at reasonable fga, but got banged

I actually thought Kristaps would be the Celtic you'd reach for in round 2 if anything.

I thought about taking Bruce Bowen with Harden in round 2 in place of Green, as he does fit into my starting lineup better than Green does. Green is a better overall player though. Having to select a pair of starters with those last two picks presented a challenge though- it took a while to figure out the logistics of those last 2 picks.

In general this was a tough draft. There were players I considered at pick 2 who weren't taken until the end of the first round. There were about 6 or 7 different combos I considered with the second pick, which is never a position you want to be in for round one. There are also superstars I considered in round 2 who STILL haven't been taken and likely won't be, which makes me feel like I should have grabbed a pair of really solid supporting pieces and waited on an offensive engine.

Of course, that was the plan. I wanted to take Billups and either Rasheed or Pippen in round 2. But obviously that didn't work out.

I'm happy with my team but it isn't close to the one I originally set out to make.

I was lined up to take him, but i hoped he would make it back, idk. I honestly didnt really put much effort into this draft.

Playoffs are dragging too much. We keep ending up with multiple games clashing.

I think we should consider posting the Finals series of every draft in the general board. Kills 2 birds with 1 stone: We gain access to a massive pool of potential voters, plus we might attract new participants.

Personally, I admit I don't enjoy voting. Teams are usually fairly close and I don't have a strong opinion.

I don't either, but unless someone decides to run a draft with a different method, we've all agreed to vote when we sign up.

For what it's worth, I'm not a fan of the general board idea for reasons I've stated before. It's a shame we can't see who voted when we do polls, otherwise that we be my preferred alternative.

I'll run the next draft just to give it a try. I really think we should try something different. Worst case scenario, it doesn't work and we won't do it again.

We can decide in advance for the next draft we'll decide the finals in the general board, and state that in the signup page. That would also affect the drafting process.

I'm sure some of the guys we are used to won't get the respect they usually do here (e.g. Eddie Jones, Manu Ginobili, even Tracy McGrady or Joel Embiid probably), while on the other hand - guys who get overlooked here might get much more respect (Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony, among others).

I would like to see if chatgpt or another AI could determine winners.

While AI today is insane, personally I don't think we are quite at the stage where I'd trust an AI tool as a judge for a game like this. I still prefer humans. Maybe if some basketball-specific tool would have been developed, it could do a good enough job.

I tried many times asking ChatGPT to decide some theoretical matchups, and it is too unreliable to me. Sometimes it ignores key details or misinterprets them, other times when it seems it understood the exact requirements, its judging is too predictable and just tends to the team with the best player.

I fully understand db's reservations, but I'd be happy to experiment with new ideas. I think you should do it the next time you run a game.
