I only like the expensive version of that PF.

You are up.

SGA/EJ/Kawhi/Gobert should be a strong core here.

That is a tremendous 2-way core.

The bottom half of the draft is eating. Glad I didn't go conservative.

This felt like the WRONG pool to be conservative in round 2. There is plenty of depth in terms of top end talent but I wasn't optimistic that there would be anything left to make a big third-round play.

I also did not see any desirable 2-starter pairs being available in round 3, and was loath commit to needed to find a critical starter in the late fourth round in this one.

I liked the idea of Jones/Leonard/Tatum. But I worried that the top of the third round was going to wreak havoc on the center pool.

Point guard doesn't concern me at all in this pool but SGA is special.

I didn't expect 3-4 of the best players to be Point Guards. Guess I'll pick the best and cheapest ones, even though the fit isn't great in theory.

Chris Paul was already picked.

I will be generous and wait to pick until 8:30 pm EST. If Reggie hasn't fixed his pick by then I will pick.

Pairing Magic with a defensive point guard with 3 point range is a pretty common move for defensive fit reasons.

The Rose fit is a bit strange.

Wondering if you could build using Magic as a distributing power forward with
Rose/Holiday/Batum as the 1/2/3. Unconventional, but seems like it could work from my perspective.

I mean, it’s Magic. I’m sure he’d figure it out.

Not sure he’s planning on starting Batum. Still half a team left to draft and he hasn’t spent a crazy amount of FGA.

I think of Rose as a smaller and weaker but jumpier and more spry Dwayne Wade. Should work well off ball considering Rose played off of Deng/Noah, but significantly worse passers than Magic and also not at his Peak.

Magic played next to Norm Nixon, a worse offensive player than Rose and worse shooter all things considered.

I agree it isn't conventional but I think Rose is an easier sell next to Magic compared to say, the walking triple-double.

Yeah Magic is more often than not paired with another point guard(or otherwise a guy who can defend them) in these because he’s not a point guard on the defensive end. To me Jrue is an ideal choice as that guy.

The Rose fit makes things more complex on both ends, but it could work, especially in matchups where you can put Rose on a corner shooter and have Jrue play to his strengths as a POA defender.

Need to see how your squad rounds out. By my estimate you’ve got well over 30 FGA left and two picks. Impossible to judge after 2 rounds.
