Important qualification: Tristan Thompson is generally included in the modern "42 players" list because he was part of the Lakers organization in 2023, but he never appeared in a game for the Lakers. The source specifically notes that he was with the Lakers for several weeks without playing.
So if your definition is "played in at least one actual NBA game for both teams," I would exclude Tristan Thompson, leaving 41 players.
