just want to post this again.

Second round draft picks will sign for the league minimum and the final year is unguaranteed in their contracts (so if it's a 3 year deal then they get 2 guaranteed years, if it's a 2 year deal then they get 1 guaranteed year, and a 1 year deal they get no guaranteed years). Also, you do not need to sign your 2nd round draft picks and you can keep their rights for a future time. If you do plan on signing your draft picks send me an e-mail letting me know for how many years and then add them to your roster.

Detroit has signed Dirk Nowitzki to a contract extension
Dirk's remaining contract
2009-2010 19,795,714
2010-2011 21,513,524
Dirk's extension
2011-2012 16,000,000
2012-2013 17,680,000
2013-2014 19,360,000
2014-2015 21,040,000
-Dirk is happy to be staying in Detroit; he feels that they have one of the best teams in the league and is looking forward to being there for awhile. He feels that they should win a championship in the next 6 years, also he likes the length of the contract as well. He might have been able to get a little bit more money elsewhere, but he decided to take a little bit less per year since he feels that he has a very good chance to win a title and that's what he wants.

Detroit has signed Paul Pierce to a contract extension.
Paul's remaining contract
2009-2010 19,795,712
2010-2011 21,513,521
Paul's extension
2011-2012 15,000,000
2012-2013 16,575,000
2013-2014 18,150,000
2014-2015 19,725,000
-Same reason as Dirk. He has a great chance to win a title; he gets long-term stability (big contract until he's 38); and it is a lot of money that he is getting as well.

Indiana has signed Amare Stoudemire to a contract extension
Amare's remaining contract
2009-2010 16,378,325
2010-2011 17,686,100
Amare's extension
Year 1 - 16,000,000
Year 2 - 17,680,000
Year 3 - 19,360,000
Year 4 - 21,040,000
-Amare is happy to be staying in Indiana. He has a great supporting cast of players around him and feels that Indiana will be good for years to come. Also he feels that this is his team and that he is their go-to guy, which is what he wants; a chance to be the man and win a title.

I got a couple of e-mails questioning the Amare extension since it wasn't for the max. I'll try to explain my reasoning a little bit better.

I thought the biggest 2 things with Amare was that a) he wanted to be the go to guy (he has expressed that he wants to be the #1 option in real life b) the 2nd thing that I went with was that he wanted to compete for a title. With Arenas, Iguodala, Millsap, and Granger they will be able to compete in the forseeable future. I let Amare sign for a little bit less than the max since I thought this Indiana team was a very good fit for Amare and since Indiana is a fairly cash conscious organization, I thought that Amare might give them a discount to play there because of the fit.

I wasn't one of the guys questioning it, I think its fine. BUT just for the record, Granger would be the guy in Indiana even if Amare did come aboard. Just saying.

Charlotte has signed Rajon Rondo to an extension
2010-2011 9,500,000
2011-2012 10,497,500
2012-2013 11,495,000
2013-2014 12,255,000
2014-2015 13,015,000
-Rajon feels that this is a more than fair offer (it is similar to what Tony Parker signed). He feels that Charlotte has a good young team and he wants to be part of their future.
