I believe that LAL would have about 24.5m committed to four players next year but (unless I'm mistaken) James cap hold would put them up to about 41.65m for five players. I'm not exactly sure what the salary number is per cap hold, but I believe there is a cap hold applied for every open roster spot under 13. Assuming James signed an extension starting at 17.15m, the Lakers would have 15.65m BEFORE any cap holds were placed for roster spots.

Remember, this is also assuming that LAL will relinquish their Bird rights to Steve Nash and let him walk. If a cap hold is around 500k per player, that would knock another 4m off of their cap space, bringing it down to under 12m in space with only James, Green, Lee, Childress, and Robinson under contract.

POSTING ON BEHALF OF CLIPPERS GM

Clippers trade:
Al Harrington ($10,000,000)

Clippers cap: $53,323,488. They swallow 2.9 mil taking them up to 55.2 mil which should work under the cap

I accept the Jaric/Kapono deal after this goes through

Clippers accept. We are under the cap. Trade works financially. Although the math doesn't work for us, we still are able to make this trade happen since we are under the cap and have space to absorb it.

SA and LA LAKERS Have Agreed to a deal

David Lee- 8,000,000 / 8,500,000 / 9,000,000 / 9,500,000 / 10,000,000 PO
Nate Robinson-4,500,000 / 4,750,000 / 5,250,000 / 6,000,000 PO
Matt Bonner-$3,256,500
Walter Sharpe-$736,420
=17.49*1.25=21.8M

For
Baron Davis- 12.1M/13M/13.9M/14.75M
Gerald Wallace-9.5/9.5/9.5/9.5
Total=21.6M

Though i hate losing Lee, who i said everything possible in the offseason to sign him and i could not give up the opportunity to get a great lock down defender in Gerald to play next to Lebron. Also even though Baron has a large contract i may end up losing Nash in FA so i do need a PG and feel he will fit in great in LA.

Accepted.

While it hurts to lose Gerald hurts, I added a starting caliber big in David Lee and a great 6th man off the bench in Nate Robinson. It was my goal to cut down salary and cut my worst contract in half.

This trade was doable because SF was the deepest position on my team.

With that being said, San Antonio cuts Walter Sharpe.

I will start of with; Portland is releasing Matt Bonner.

Then I have a trade to announce.

Jamario Moon/Lou Williams/2010 Utah 1st
3,000,000+4,972,500=7,972,500

for

Shawne Williams/James Jones/ Rights to Jeff Pendergraph

2,416,067+4,330,000= 6,746,067x1.25=8,432,583

One of my goals was to cut back long term salary and this trade achieved it. Lou Williams was not going to see playing time behind Jarret Jack and newly acquired Nate Robinson. San Antonio is very happy with the swap of James Jones and Jamario Moon as it adds a vet sharp shooter to our squad that can play both SG/SF and sit happily behind Dunleavy and Batum.

San Antonio is also very high on Jeff Pendergraph making adding the Utah first rounder for a salary dump very easy to do.

accepted. We feel we get a clear win win for both players were dealing, so losing pendergraph doesnt hurt, adding the pick is grazy for us. At this point in the game, taking on salary doesnt really matter to the 76ers.

The Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons have agreed upon a three way deal.

Image

ImageImage FOR ImageImage

76ers send Stephen Jackson ($7,650,000), and Jason Kidd ($8,500,000) in exchange for Gilbert Arenas (16,192,079) and and Alexis Ajinca ($1,372,080).

Code: Select all

Incoming: $17,564,159
Outgoing: $16,150,000

ImageImage FOR Image

Pistons send Andre Miller ($5,848,000) and Alexis Ajinca ($1,372,080) in exchange for Jason Kidd ($8,500,000).

Code: Select all

Incoming: $8,500,000
Outgoing: $7,220,080

Image FOR ImageImage

Indiana sends Gilbert Arenas ($16,192,079) in exchange for Andre Miller ($5,848,000), and Stephen Jackson ($7,650,000).

Code: Select all

Incoming: $13,498,000 X 1.25 = $16,872,500
Outgoing: $16,192,079

Indiana accepts, we hate to lose Arenas who in a recent article was quoted as he was "feeling great," but felt this was a deal we couldn't pass on. Ignoring Arenas injury history, we were more worried on how his game would translate with the Pacers, in this deal we break his contract into two smaller pieces and acquire one of the more underrated wing players in today's game on both ends and a proven pure PG that can run our offense and provide some veteran stability. Iggy and Miller have proven they can co-exist in the backcourt, and be effective, as the two best players for a playoff team the past two seasons. Saying this both can be had in the right deal, but despite their age, I like their fit with this Pacers team.

Was real bored, decided to add pictures, lol.

^^ great post indiana. lol

Accepted. Bringing in a real superstar like Gilbert Arenas is not an easy thing to do, and we just did it. He will be back 100% next year so we really like the deal. Letting kidd go was tough, but he was older and were trying to get younger now. Stephen Jackson is my boy, hes a real talent in this league, but we HAD to bring in Gilbert arenas. Had TOO!. Alex A. fills out my big man depth chart nicely. Wish the other teams involved the best of luck.

Gilbert
SG
Deng
Lewis
Kaman

is pretty solid team IMO.

Memphis and Dallas have agreed upon a trade involving Jason Kapono and Marko Jaric

Memphis sends

Marko Jaric - $7,100,000

Dallas sends

Jason kapono - $6,212,960

Memphis incoming - $6,212,960
Memphis outgoing - $7,100,000
math: $7,100,000 x 1.25 + $100,000 = $8,885,000
$6,212,960 < $8,885,000 ... The trade works

This trade helps Memphis make the PG position less crowded and add some more depth to the SF position by getting an elite shooter in Jason Kapono (who did not have that great of a season but can still be a threat from beyond the arc).

Trade approved

Bonner has not been released right now because of the Lakers/SA trade did not go through.

Also, to sign a player, you need to send in an offer for him, even if he was released during the year. I've posted this new rule a couple of times and it is in affect to prevent multiple people from signing the same player, and gives everyone a chance to sign a player that has been released.

Bobby Jackson is on Detroit (sorry I forgot to take him off of the free agent list). also for free agents you need to submit an offer to me and then that player will choose where to sign (send in how many years you want that player for as well).
