I thought they could sign him, but Tully305 was only responsible for the difference between what he was originally being paid minus whatever his new team was paying him.

Yes, it's called the set-off I think. He's easily worth 10-15 mil per year...somebody sign him quick! :-)

Lewis can be signed for a new amount, but my cap hold is reduced by that amount.

it is guaranteed for this season(NTIM) but next season he will now be UFA since you deecline the TO and waived him.
