Clearly you have it completely figured out...you can't just post the results here?

Or Ima simply say I start all contracts at 30 mil.

The two big FAs start at:

Kobe's max deal:
1st Year: 24,186,093

LeBron's max deal:
1st year: $17,190,000

Gay should be able to get a max somewhere in the $14mil range, not sure of the exact amount.

OK, I'll do this one for you, but come on, you can figure some of it out yourself.

Gay was drafted in 2006, giving him 4 years in the league come 2010. Using the chart found in question 11, his max contract is 25% of the salary cap. $57,300,000 X .25 = $14,325,000.

And then you can sign him for 5 years, with an 8% increase each year. (But it always stems off of the 1st year salary. e.g. 2nd year is 1.08 of 1st year, 3rd year 1.16 of 1st year, etc.)

Whoops, you're right. I wrote $57,000,000 as the cap instead of $57,300,000.

I assume the LLE will be the same as last year's as well. (Not sure what it was, though.)

MLE is the same

LLE is what is given by the NBA
BI-ANNUAL EXCEPTION -- This exception was previously named the "$1 Million exception" (perhaps "misnamed" is more appropriate, since it was only valued at $1 million in 1998-99). It may be used to sign any free agent to a contract starting at the following amounts:
2005-06 $1.67 million
2006-07 $1.75 million
2007-08 $1.83 million
2008-09 $1.91 million
2009-10 $1.99 million
2010-11 $2.08 million
2011-12 $2.18 million

^That you can find on Coon's FAQ. (Question 11 I believe). Use 2010-11 salaries (obviously), and then use the correct amount of years in the league.

Okay it's time to upset most of the GM's in the league

Lebron James is signed and traded to the Miami Heat
Year 1 - 17,190,000 (30% of the 57.3 million dollar cap, for a 7 year veteran)
Year 2 - 18,994,950
Year 3 - 20,799,900
Year 4 - 22,604,850
Year 5 - 24,409,800 (ETO)
Year 6 - 26,214,75 (PO)
Why Lebron chose Miami? Lebron had 4 things that he wanted, 2 big ones and 2 small ones and Miami gave him all that he wanted
1st Big Reason: Being able to compete for a championship immediately; last year Miami was voted the best team in the league, they have one of the all-time great players in Duncan on their team. Also the rest of their roster is solid as well. An argument could be made that they are getting up their in years, but Lebron feels that they will be the team to beat even without him for the next 2 or 3 years. Also Lebron feels that age will not be as big of a concern since Miami is deep at most positions and they can keep their players rested. (Big advantage for Miami since they are immediately the favorites to win a title, anywhere else it might take a few years)
2nd Big Reason: The team must be from a big market. Lebron wants to be on a big stage, and Miami is one of the top places in the US. Miami is the 7th largest metropolitan area in the U.S. http://www.ask.com/bar?q=Largest+Metrop ... litan_area
It is a diverse place and gets a lot of media coverage.
Reason 3: Money, with the sign and trade he gets 10.5% increases. Also Florida doesn't have any state tax which would net him a lot more money as well.
Reason 4: Location, just like in real life, big name stars seem to prefer the southern climate and the beach life to northern climates, it wasn't that big of a factor but the location of Miami did help.

Kobe Bryant resigns with Atlanta
Year 1 - 24,186,094
Year 2 - 26,725,634
Year 3 - 29,265,174
Year 4 - 30,000,000
Year 5 - 30,000,000 (ETO)
Year 6 - 30,000,000 (PO)
Why? I don't have time to go into as long of an explanation, but the basics is that he really likes the team around him with a bunch of borderline all-stars, he feels that they should be able to compete for a title and that's what he wants more than anything.

-Well I'm out of a town for a few days so I won't be able to respond to all the angry e-mails that will be sent my way for a few days anyway. Also

Ugh... ok...

I can't argue with the value (LBJ for Wade is pretty fair if it's a S&T I suppose...), but I do wonder one thing. How will LeBron like being with Duncan? That pretty much ruins his legacy IMO. If he wins a championship, how much credit does LeBron actually get? And that team will be rebuilding soon.

Also, S&T = cheap. Come on, we all worked hard for our cap space, and you just let him get signed and traded to a team that already was the best in the league? Come on.

LOL we didn't even vote Miami as the best. We all voted that they would make the playoffs. BIG DIFFERENCE.

anyway...

This was give the dog a bone for LA, and screw all the teams that worked to get space.

Congrats MIami, LA, and skorf, great job.

I have new plans that will alter the balance of power.
