Welcome to 'GM a Team 2010'
I'm thinking a quicker paced version...
I feel like taking a break from being a GM and trying my hand as a commish. If anyone else also wants to step down from GMing and take part in running the game feel free.
Here are some changes I would like to see but would like to hear everyone's input before we get the rules set in stone.
1. No trades allowed unless your roster page has all player and team salaries for both 2010 and 2011. Each roster page must be kept up to date with transactions, assets, and waived players as well.
2. There will be 2 categories for judging 'win now' and 'rebuild' both will be broken into conferences. The 2 teams that win each category will go head to head for their respective title. ie East 'win now' v West 'win now' and East 'rebuild' v West 'rebuild'.
3. Exorbitant team salaries, Injury riddled players, youth v experience v too old, will play a part in voting as will overall improvement towards each GM's desired goal.
4. There will be no extensions in this go round so as to make Free Agency a bit more exciting as well as viable for teams clearing cap space.
5. The draft will be in hyper-speed. Every team will have to send a list and there will be only 15 minutes between picks in the 1st round and 10 minutes in the 2nd round. Everyone will get to help figure out the best time of day and what day to run the draft so as many GMs as possible will be able to be online and make trades if desired.
6. Pick predetermined time frames for each aspect of this game and stick to the timetable.
All current GMs that have completed this go round get 1st dibs on choosing a team. After that, other possible GMs can make their case for one of the remaining teams.

GM a TEAM 2010 Roster Thread
I may add some more ideas or change things up a bit after a decent amount of feedback...
We will start with no roster limit for the 1st 2 weeks since some FAs are still unsigned. After those 2 weeks all rosters must meet the required limits. If a RL team signs a FA then the in game team also gets that FA. If said team has 15 players already under contract they must cut a player to make room. The cut player should be a minimum contract if possible. If you want to cut a different player you will take the salary hit minus the league minimum. That does not release the team from paying any extra years still on said contract if guaranteed.
After the 1st 2 weeks are done and all rosters are trimmed to limit then we will have 2 months to trade. At that point we will figure out draft day and have a small trade stoppage while we figure out draft positions. Trading will pick back up a week before the draft and continue for another 2 weeks before Free Agency starts.
Free Agency will last for 2 weeks and then one more week of trading and then rosters will be complete and voting time ready to begin.
I will edit this post if there is a rule change or if new rules need to be added.
Thoughts?
