The Bulls are actually the 8th most winningest franchise, but I'm fine with keeping it as the Rockets. Any preference?

Bird
Shaq
Kobe
Kareem
DRob
Duncan
Kawhi
Durant
Malone
Barkley
Walton
Hakeem

I'm probably forgetting some, but it looks pretty rough at the bottom of the first. Maybe you get into Harden, Westbrook, etc. but that's quite a drop.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Well you've forgotten Magic for starters. Celtics KG and Nash at the lower end is pretty solid too.

With Magic, Moses, KG, Harden, Nash added to above list I don't think the outlook is too bad. This could also be a draft where picking high in Rd 2 and Rd 3 is especially important

You were right, I thought the guys farther down ended up doing well.

I know some will hate the idea, but I wonder if we should experiment with a five round draft, no benches. We've tinkered with ways to speed up the end as interest wanes in the closing rounds, but do we need them? It's a fantasy game anyway, just require the players selected played at least 30 MPG and fatigue is not a factor. (ducks)

Yes. Bench guys sometimes get selected in the first five rounds, like Coop or McMillan. Not only does this change the dynamic of the draft drastically, I don’t think we’ve had that many instances where GMs aren’t filling out their teams or are missing late picks. I haven’t noticed that

I'm in the camp of wanting to keep the benches, it adds a lot strategy wise

Was there any more interest in this one? Laimbeer is the only one who weighed in.

Seems weak imo.

I'm interested in a no bench draft, but with much fewer FGA. Something like 50 or 60 FGA for the starters. Seems like bench players don't play much anyways. Thus 2 superstars would be a lot, and roleplayers would be important (unlike now for 8 mins on the bench)

One per any 8 franchises
Two per any 4
Four per any two (one at a time)
Four per any two, but they have to be different from everyone else's (15 people) (one player at a time - some overlap franchises, so no one will get all four Warriors)

Maybe a game where's a limit on the total number of all-stars or players who can be taken at each height

Yes but youre a nutter.
Then again I suppose I am as well.
Okay I like it too.

I was also thinking have we ever discussed an upside down 3 degrees of frustration? Could be wild.

My biggest issue would be it's too big an advantage for whoever goes first in the last round, if they're guaranteed to be building around Lebron or whatever, it makes it a lot simpler

Actually the first three picks could get Magic, LeBron or Mike so they all would know what neighborhood they'd have to be in. Thought the Magic build would be different.

What about combining the upside down concept with multiple picks (teammates, draft classmates, etc.)?
