I'll be offline for the next several hours. Snake has my pick.

I’m also somewhat surprised Hedo wasn’t taken sooner. Very useful player and from Asia.

The twist wasn’t as hard to navigate as I expected. Locking down Africa early helped I suppose. I also think saving FGA by making Magic my USA pick helped smooth things over too.

Why take Gallo/Exum over Hedo?

Not for the first time, I made my life harder by not doing any research/planning beforehand and just taking certain things for granted.

For example, if I'd known Giannis was also a Nigerian citizen, there's no way in hell I would have passed on him for Luka. Then I had it in my head that Bell could be used as a non-USA player, so my plans were completely thrown into chaos when that was blown up. I also should have taken Mills over Nene since I still hadn't filled his category. Turkoglu falling to me was very fortunate because I had no backup plan to speak of.

Wow, I had no idea about Giannis.

I may have taken him 2nd, though I still think Hakeem is totally justifiable as a pick for me.

For me I’ve just gotten lucky I think. I was very worried about taking an American player so early but felt like I needed to take that risk to get an elite pairing.

I think “luck” tends to happen when there aren’t many drafters.

Cause I was orignally planning Wilkins and Mills.

Thought Gallos lower FGA would be more apt to be drafted than Hedo at this point. Gambled and lost.

I have a plan for my last 2 picks... hell maybe it will even turn this franchise around.

Sorry, but probably should have just left the first pick to someone below me in order. Opted to leave options for the two picks

Bird is a great grab with Gino/Horford/AK/Deke though I still think roddy would have been even better with Dirk or Joel.

The bottom was the place to be in this one IMO- just a very strong overall position.

Barbosa should be drafted more as bench guard, he has some solid cheap seasons including on 5.8/5.4 on Warriors champions, a young Suns for 5.6, and a 4.7 Celtics season

Boris Diaw

Almost took him. I literally typed his name and then deleted it. Was considering Dieng, Diaw and another stretch big who's relatively expensive and would have forced me to downgrade Peja's season.

Didn't take into account the deepness of the French pool when taking Tony

Still not sure whether to start Nene or Hedo.

Kind of second guessing not going Rubio/Ingles/Bird/Dirk/Embiid. I was concerned about being pretty soft in the middle on defense and it'd be real bad against someone like Giannis, but it's hard to deny the talent of Bird, Dirk and Embiid.

Your current team is better than that.

Honest question: Would you guys rather have:
  • peak Peja, led the league in OWS, 4th in MVP voting (but underwhelming playoffs) + arguably 2nd best season for Steph + a mediocre wing from Israel
  • peak Steph, arguably the greatest scoring regular season in NBA history, the only player in the 3-point era to lead the league in scoring volume and in scoring efficiency + 2nd best season for Peja + a borderline NBA-calibre wing from Japan

    Image
  • 2nd best season for both of them and save FGAs for a mediocre 3+D wing from the 00s who was born in the US but is also eligible in the asian pool
