I did make the deal official.

No you didn't. Here is what you said.

How about something like Ricky Rubio and Cole Aldrich for Lance Thomas, Kyle O'Quinn and Courtney Lee?

I'm intrigued, i'll get back to you but it certainly sounds like a solid deal

I waited a while to hear back from you on this. You never confirmed this deal (I checked to see if you did repeatedly). Negotiations didn't start again until well after I dealt for Oladipo. The Oladipo deal made acquiring Lance Thomas redundant. Also, by that point I was much more hesitant to move Rubio which is why we did the Okafor for O'Quinn deal instead.
Spens1 wrote:Also as for a replacement, I could send Payton your way as i said before. Payton + Thomas + Kuz for Rubio.

Payton seems like the type of P.G Thibs would use anyway.

Payton looks like he's a free agent after next season so while I like his upside I can't do it. I wouldn't want Payton to just be a rental but he's still has more to prove to justify an extension let alone how big of an extension.

you're talking about the Okafor-O'Quinn deal? ok i can check and confirm it i guess.

Also Payton is an RFA, he's not going to get anywhere near max money anyway, probably more in the range of Rubio's deal if anything.

Why rely on nuance, facts and logic when you can bludgeon the other side with mindless repetition of "Duuur McDaniel's has potential :tooth and still be treated as if you were reasonable.

The Kings might are interested as well. What contract are you trying to move?

Would you be interested in Ish Smith for 2018 2nd round?

We will have to wait to see what happens in FA. We can't send a '18 2nd and give up space right now. We will have to wait until some FA moves are done.

What if we send ours. Gett one back from you top 55 protected?

The value is completely fine, but it isn't tipping me over the potential free agents out there. I have my eyes on a few people. If I can't get them, then your offer will be considered.

I do have Gasol set up to go to the Sixers tied to a lottery protected first. It's not final. I can offer that to you along with Ish and our 2018 2nd. Do you have the cap/interest to do it?

No. I cannot move Rubio because I do not think I can find an adequate replacement. Lee is not that guy. Payton can be that guy but I don't want to deal with his impending free agency.

While I like the offer, unfortunately I don't have the space. I already took on contracts earlier this offseason. I can only open up about $18 million in cap space right now if I renounce my guys.

As you know the Nuggets are interested in Eric Bledsoe and after some preliminary talks I´d like to make a trade proposal in which the Blazers as well as the Wizards could be involved.

What do you guys think about...

Nuggets trade: Will Barton, Jameer Nelson, DEN 2018 1st (top-10 protected), DEN 2019 1st (pick swap)
Nuggets aquire: Eric Bledsoe

Suns trade: Eric Bledsoe
Suns aquire: DEN 2018 1st, Al-Farouq Aminu, Jameer Nelson, one out of: rights to swap picks with DEN in 2019 or WAS 2018 1st or Kelly Oubre

Wizards trade: Kelly Oubre or WAS 2018 1st
Wizards aquire: Will Barton

Blazers trade: Al-Farouq Aminu
Blazers aquire: one out of Kelly Oubre or WAS 2018 1st or rights to swap picks with DEN in 2019

Interested? Any other ideas?

Like I said before, it wouldn't be prudent for me to trade a 1st 2 years in a row for a rental and Oubre is my starting SF so he's basically untouchable for anything but an overpay at this point (and a lot more valuable to me than Barton would be). I'd rather take my chances on a couple FA vets at the 2 guard if that's the asking price for Barton. Sorry mate.

If Denver has any interest in Dellavedova, we can maybe work something out around Delly for Barton at a later date.
Keeping things realistic though, I wouldn't be interested if the price is a 1st for a 1 year rental of a player that's about to be PAID.

You don't need me in the trade anyhow, I'm sure Blazers prefer a swap with the Nuggets in '19 considering the Nuggets are likely 7th/8th seed at best in the upcoming few seasons.

I can't trade my most flexible forward for another guard, even if Barton has his fans in Portland.

Dame at this point is untouchable (in keeping with the spirit of the Blazers Management... if I traded Dame it would have to be for someone who would be a clear win for the Blazers, not Parts.)

I work until 6:00 PM ET then have a wake to attend then I need to confirm in the roster thread what each teams cap space is.. Once I do that free agency will begin, I will give a starting point at sometime tonight once I completed all that.
