#69 :eyebrows:

Cleveland and New York have a trade to announce.

Cavs out:
Omri Casspi ($1,341,960)
76ers' 2012 2nd
x 1.25 = $1,677,450

Knicks out:
Landry Fields ($788,872)
Julian Wright ($800,000)
=$1,588,872

The Cavaliers do this deal because we love Landry Fields to fit in with Irving and George. We had a move fall through earlier for him and we were determined to get him to Cleveland. We are sorry to see Casspi go, but we feel like this is a great opportunity for not only us, but for him as well. Good dealing, NYK.

New York Knicks confirm this deal. Landry had a great rookie year, but the Knicks believe that Bill Walker's off season has prepare him to assume the starting role. His shooting, handles and athleticism are NBA quality and the Knicks needed to strengthen their SF position. Omri will be a great fit in spreading the floor for Josh Smith and Amare and he is already a fan favorite at the Garden. The Knicks will also be able to get a prospect in the current draft. Jason Wright was expendable with Omri coming on board.

Trade #70
Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings Make Major Move

The Houston Rockets have acquired SG DWyane Wade and SF John Salmons for Wesley Matthews ($6.135M), Thaddeus Young ($8.5M), Zaza Pachulia (4.75M) and Patrick Patterson (1.959M).

The deal has $24,169,000 of salary going to the Knicks while Sacramento takes back $19,844,620 (x1.25 = $24,805,775) which makes the trade work under the CBA.

Houston hated to lose the services of the young promising core of Matthews, Patterson and Young, but the chance to get one of the truly elite players in Wade who is still in his prime and quality SF made this a deal that had to be done.

Kings accept. It was hard to pull t5he trigger but I felt that I really had no chance at the ring. Harris/Wes/Thad/Landry/Patterson is a nice start Imo

The Denver Nuggets and the LA Lakers have a trade to announce

Carmelo Anthony $18,518,574
Nate Robinson $4,500,000
Kosta Koufas $2,204,000
Iman Shumpert $1,343,300

$26,565,874

for

Andrew Bynum $14,900,000
Luis Scola $8,591,793
Lamar Odom $8,900,000

$32,391,793

The Lakers do lose a lot of depth with the big men, but they get back a legit superstar to pare up with Kobe. Carmelo is the player that will lead the Lakers in the future when Kobe gets older.

Right now the Lakers have the luxury of having two top 10 arguably top 5 players on the same team.

The Lakers also saved millions with expiring contracts and a slash in overall salary. and get a solid guard prospect in Iman shumpert

$26,565,874 x 1.25 =33,207,342.5

Trade works under the 125% rule

Confirmed. We shore up our PF position and now have the 2# and 3# C's in the league to contend with Howard out west.

The LA Lakers and the Boston Celtics have a trade to announce

LA outgoing:

Nate Robinson $4,500,00
Shannon Brown $4,200,000
Derek Fisher $3,400,000
Lakers 2012 1st(unprotected)

Total: $12,100,000

for

Boston Outgoing:

Chris Kaman 12,700,000
Clippers 2012 2nd round pick(unprotected)

Salary works out under 125% rule

The Lakers were severely needing a big man. Chris Kaman is a solid big man who made the all star team in the past. We did have to give up young players and an unprotected draft pick but we had to do it.

Marreese Speights $2,721,255
DEN 1st 2013
DEN 1st 2014
DEN 1st 2015
NJ 2nd 2012
ATL 2nd 2013

= $11,101,255

POR trades:

Gerald Wallace $10,650,000

Why for ATL? We love Wallace and we think that we have one of the best starting Fives in the league with this addition. Good dealing, POR.

Though we loved our Wallace, we felt we needed some additional assets to make improvements throughout the roster. We know have the much needed big man depth we needed, and got a ton of draft picks to help make some moves in the near future. Good Dealing!

Trade #74

Jerebko $3,000,000 (4 years flat)
Maxiell $5,000,000
Wallace$2,246,400
Total: $10.24m

for

Hinrich $8,100,000
MIN 1st 2012
Kwame $1,500,000 (2 years flat)
Total: $9.6m <-- close enough to work within 125%

We're unsure if maxiell will opt out of his $5m payday next year. Essentially, we're trading Kwame for Wallace, Jerebko for Min 1st and Maxiell for Hinrich.

Hated to lose our only young PF but we like the first rounder and this weakens us nicely for the draft.

We accept. Maxiell's contract and losing a pick won't hurt us much, as we add some muce needed depth on front. Jerebko is really a nice prospect at PF and could develop into a very decent PF.

MIA sends:
KG ($21,247,044)

DEN sends:
Luis Scola ($8,519,793)
Lamar Odom ($8,900,000)

Total: 17,419,793

17,419,000*1.25 = $21,874,741 > $21,247,044 so salaries work!

MIA loves KG on defense, but Lamar will bring that back some when he plays PF minutes, and will make a great backup for LBJ when we slide lbj to the 2 to play big. scola's a very effective scorer and can defend/rebound fairly well alongside al J and gortat. We also get back much more financial flexibility. good dealing DEN!

Defense. That is the main reason we do this trade, KG was 1st team all D and with Bogut/Bynum at C and KG/K-Mart at PF opposing teams will have trouble getting to 80. KG also has a silky smooth mid range game that compliments Westbrook and our bigs quite nicely.

Cleveland and Philadelphia have a trade to announce.

Cavs out:
Chuck Hayes ($4,000,000)
Julian Wright ($800,000)
= $4,800,000

Sixers out:
Spencer Hawes ($2,500,000)
Joel Przybilla ($2,000,000
2013 2nd
= $4,500,000

We missed out on Spencer in Free Agency, and wanted to get our guy. We love Chuck Hayes and looked forward to him playing with our young team, but Hawes is a younger big man that can grow with our nucleus of players. We didn't really have a spot for Julian on our team, and Przybilla serves as a nice mentor for Hawes and Mozgov. A future 2nd is icing on the cake. Good dealing, lukekarts!

Trade 77

Wade to LA

In a surprising move, the Houston Rockets have sent All Star Dwyane Wade and PG Jeff Teague to the Los Angeles - Clippers. In return the Clippers have sent PG Stephen Curry, Wes Johnson, Al-Farouq Aminu and Boris Diaw.

The Rockets take on $17,178,760 and send $18,198,120 of salary to the Clippers. This falls within the rules of the CBA and gains a $1,019,360 TPE for the Rockets.

Houston said they were astounded by the persistence of the Clippers but found them to be fair throughout the negotiations. While the Rockets hate to lose D Wades services, the acquisition of Steph Curry and the potential that Wes Johnson and Aminu bring was too good to pass up. In addition, Nic Batum encouraged picking up Spanish National teammate Boris Diaw.

In the end it was great working with LAC to accomplish this trade.

The Los Angeles Clippers agree to this trade. I hate giving up Curry and Wes Johnson, but the chance to pick up one of the best players in the league in Wade as well as a promising PG in Teague was too much to refuse.

Trade #78:

ATL trades:

Al Horford $12,000,000

= $12,000,000

ORL trades:

Nene $12,000,000
James Johnson $1,833,120
HOU 1st 2012
Ind 2nd 2012

= $13,833,120

Why for ATL?

We do this because Nene is the better fit next to Perkins + we get good assets here...
