Nets send Booker and #27
Kings send #34

We are completely fine with taking on Booker's salary because we have a TON of cap space. We have no issue taking on that contract. With the addition of the Bucks, we basically sent Koufos away for free with only positive being that we didn't have to pay for Booker. We value Koufos more than the salary that we would save sending him away. If we move Koufos, we are moving him away for a player who can help us, not salary relief.

The only (slightly) obtainable pieces the Bucks have that we are interested in are Malcolm Brogdon, Jabari Parker, and picks. From what I've seen here, you really like Parker and I don't blame you. He is a solid young player who is coming off of a (2nd) big injury. You would be selling low on the guy if you dealt him now. We are interested in him, but we are not likely to give you the value that you are seeking. That leaves us with 2 other directions:
1. We are interested in future firsts if you want to go that route. We could send Koufos to you for a future first.
2. Brogdon. We really like Brogdon and I'm certain that you do too. He is a team player and seems to be quite a hustler. I don't think you value Koufos and Brogdon the same so we may not have a deal there, but it could be the basis of a deal.

Your original deal was Booker and 27 for 34 correct? Since we are now taking on Booker you are basically moving up 7 spots and back into the 1st where you gain another year of cheap control of whoever you decide to draft. This has some value along with to cap flexibility to still take on a bad contract for another asset later on. I really feel the current value is fair for the Kings. I'm just not sure how the Nets value Anderson.

And neither Brogdon or Parker would even be considered in a deal centered around a back up center coming back to Milwaukee. Also with glut of centers available via trade I'm not willing to spend a future 1st for Koufos.

We totally get it. You value Parker and Brogdon highly and we expect you to. They are good players with some nice potential. As for our current deal, we favor the initial deal that we had with the Nets. We can take on Booker's contract no problem. This allows us to move in to the first round, get a better chance at the guy we want, and keep Koufos. Unfortunately, we will have to decline our side of the deal and possibly take the Nets deal. It is in our best interest to do it that way.

Fair enough.

Mock Off-Season: NBA Draft

Post#167 » by bdpecore » Sat May 20, 2017 12:10 am

Bucks are looking to acquire a late 1st or early second. We can offer up Justin Anderson or take on some salary since we have about $10MM in available cap space and can send back and expiring Spencer Hawes ($6.1MM) if the incoming player's deal runs multiple years.

Edit: we would prefer a PF or C but willing to discuss any player you have available

I traded Gasol :( I had to bro... please forgive me :-? lol.

After I got Jackson, I didn't know if Otto would accept playing the 2guard here, and the chance at getting the #8 was too good to pass. I'll owe ya one so if you need any help completing a deal or whatev let me know and I'll do my best.

You moved the 8th? You gotta do these negotiations on the draft thread man. We aren't supposed to be PM'ing each other the negotiations. Just negotiate out in the open so we can see and not be bored waiting hours for you to pick.

I didn't expect the draft to move that fast either after the slow start.

Just in case you missed my other reply, yes, I'm interested. What more do you want on top of #12? Please let me know!

Whoops. :-? Sorry about that. We are interested in Stanley Johnson, but are unsure of how we can come up with extra value. What kind of value are you seeking for him? If we can't make a move for him, we are interested in future picks.

First off, no sweat on missing my first post! :D

I don't really see a way to make up the value difference between a two-spot jump and Stanley Johnson, especially since I already traded Marcus Morris. Is there any salary you want to dump? Are you interested in Ish Smith as a bridge PG to Fox? Any interest in Henry Ellenson? As for picks, I've got my 2018 2nd rounder, a really complicated 2019 2nd rounder (please look it up, it's conditions are too long to type out!), and all of my firsts, but I think a first rounder is too steep a price for moving up two spots and I doubt you're interested in a pick swap, correct? In any case, let me know if any of these dots connect in a way that suits you. Thanks again!
