Re: Future Draft Games
A draft where all five positions can't have more than 48 minutes total each for the players' actual season. So if the starter at that position played 34 minutes per game in their chosen season, the backup for that position can't have played more minutes per game than 14 minutes. Obviously with only 3 bench players at least two players play more than one position.
So the total minutes the players picked played per game in their chosen season can't be more than 48mins x 5 positions = 240 minutes.
So the total minutes the players picked played per game in their chosen season can't be more than 48mins x 5 positions = 240 minutes.

Re: Future Draft Games
It's crazy how many of these I've played. Every time I think of an idea I realise it's already been done.
Anyway, what about a game where you have to use the season with the highest possible regular season accolade for all your players?
- Hakeem, D-Rob, KG, Chuck, KD, etc. all have to be selected in their MVP seasons
- Wade, Ewing, Drexler, PG, Marc Gasol, etc. all have to be selected in their All-NBA First Team seasons
- Iguodala has to be selected in his All-Star season
And so on down the line.
Makes a number of stars more expensive and increases the challenge of filling in around them.

Re: Future Draft Games
Back when we did the road trip draft I was interested in a version that tweaks the rules a bit - where there's no jump like the original game but you can move 3 states at once or something (with some ferries between states to get to the isolated ones)

I'd like to do something like this next. I do like both Fadeaway and Migya's idea, but I like the idea of looking at a certain, small pool (state by state) and progressing like that.

This one looks easier to prepare for. Looks good

Let's see if we can actually get this one off the ground at least.

It would have a similar effect as the current game, but what about one in which you have to use the player's highest FGA season (has to be eligible in terms of games played)? So if you wanted LeBron you would have to use his 3rd season at 23.1 FGA. Could fairly drastically change the field.

We actually did something similar a while back, although we didn't get much participation.

Your idea would be tougher as we limited the requirement to All-Star/All-NBA players.

I would definitely want to have it apply to everyone.
That was also 3.5 years ago, we have some new faces now. Granted our overall participation is super low so I am certainly not rushing to start anything

Another idea, starting five are five allstars of the same season, that chosen season.

I would be interested for what it's worth.
You can always throw it out and then cancel if the participation remains low.

I'm not sure if I understand. So they must have all played for the same team, and must have been an All Star for the chosen season?

Re: Future Draft Games
Here's an idea...
Everyone selects 2 players who were top 10 draft picks
Everyone selects 3 players who were selected 11-30 (or end of first round before expansion)
Everyone selects 3 players who were drafted in the 2nd round
Thoughts?

Any five allstars, any season 1990 onwards.

Yeah I totally misread your post the first time lol. Interesting concept, I wouldn't be opposed.

Instead post merger or 1980 onwards?

Its going to be nearly impossible to field these teams with the FGA limit.
Perhaps it is better to do pairs (Pair of players in the same season who made all-star) and limit it to one all-nba season per pair. Two of the pairs need to include all-stars?
I also like Dr. P's with the state/location. I think 3 states is too far away--thats going from California to Texas.
