Alright, I'm a little less swamped now, so I'll probably start my matchups tonight. I hope to complete several each day leading up to midnight on Sunday.

BTW, on standings, it's about most wins, not best percentage. If you don't post your regular season analysis, those are forfeits and count as 21 losses.

I've got enough to almost secure a .500 home record. I'll see how many I can get done tomorrow. Unfortunately right at this moment I actually have something resembling a life (amazing, I know), but I think I'll be able to get most of them tomorrow.

I really hope some other people are planning on doing this, though.

May I please have I get a three-hour extension?

It's been tough being in China for the entire time. I just got back today and I'm exhausted. I've done my best to put SOMETHING up, but it's been a challenge just finding time to sit down and write. I need the recuperation today.

I apologize if I sound whiny. I know that it's bad for the competition asking for special treatment. If you don't feel that it is fair to give me the 3 hours, let me know.

3 hours would make it so that I can work until midnight PDT to get it done.

The deadline is midnight tonight, right?

Bachelor party/weekend since Thursday Got a game in a bit, then I'll be back for the evening. I've got some thoughts on a fair amount of match-ups already.

And, at the moment, only 3 teams are playing competing as everyone else has procrastinated right down to the wire so if you jump in, you might find it a walkaway Cellar unless someone else makes a last minute run

China sounds impressive as excuses go . . . I'm okay with making it 12M PDT (3A EST)

Lol, so even if Cellar and Miller both do it we could have a final 4 set up by default.

Weak....

This regular season thing was a nice experiment to try but I'm not convinced its viable. Too much work to maintain broad interest, perhaps?

GET GOING, PEOPLE.

Maybe next time we can just use whatif sports rankings for seedings as a nice twist?

1 v 8, so on and so forth.

Yes, people didn't put in the work and so the three that posted matchups, even if miller didn't finish, move on plus Boston. In this round we get a more conventional head to head matchup. We will need voting from those who didn't post in the regular season this time. Suggest that people who didn't vote in either the regular season and who still don't vote in the playoffs not be invited to join the next matchup game?

Any case . . .

Final Standings (home wins) penbeast snakebites miller (total wins)

Kentucky Colonels (+21) pen 5-1 5-1 (31)
New York Knicks (+21) 5-1 bit 0-2 (26)
New York Nets (+8) 2-4 2-4 mil (12)
Boston Celtics (0) 4-2 4-2 1-2 (9)

Golden State Warriors 4-2 3-3 1-0 (8)
Milwaukee Bucks 3-3 4-2 1-1 (8)
Denver Nuggets 2-4 2-4 0-1 (4)
Philadephia 1-5 1-5 0-1 (2)

PLAYOFFS

Kentucky (1) v. Boston (4)
NY Knicks (2) v. NY Nets (3)

Two terrific matchups. Kentucky, the ABA's title winner v. Boston, the NBA's standard bearer for a generation

And, the battle of New York with Clyde and the Knicks v. Doctor J and the Nets

Again, post comments here, writeups and judgements in the other thread

I fell asleep at 5 pm and didn't wake up until 4 am. Jet lag is a bitch. I managed to do a couple more, though.

Miller said I had a championship caliber team but voted against me in the only two Knicks matchups he voted on.

It's so ON.

Whatever, Snakebite.

I didn't think I was getting out of the regular season, so you have to understand that I'm already happy. This is compounded by the fact that I'm a Pacers fan.

I'm sorry for not voting, had an unexpected move, and became busier than I thought I would (orientation with school, etc). Would help out with judging if need be.

New York, New York

Not much of a writeup there Miller . . . saving space to get the first word in I guess?

Trying to show the similarities between the teams. It kind of ends there.

Wow, nice writeup Miller, can you show us the rebounding and efficiency numbers by lineup and minute? It sounds like you calculated them and hopefully kept the calculations.

We have 4 GMs who aren't in the playoffs in BlackIce, Cellardoor, TMac, and Turkish Thunder -- hopefully they will be our 4 judges . . . first team to collect 2 endorsements moves on to the finals where we will have 6 judges requiring 3 votes. Judging starts tomorrow and runs for a week or until there are consensus judgements on both matchups.
