Re: All corners of the world - Discussion thread
I think my team turned out OK, but I don't know what possessed me to go with Luka over Giannis when I'd done so little planning beforehand.
Don't get me wrong, the players were there to build a very strong Luka team. The problem is, in this game I needed to have a clear strategy as to how to get those players while also complying with the restrictions. Instead, I tried to wing it and ended up confused about what to do next for a good chunk of the draft.

Re: All corners of the world - Discussion thread
Well, I think I managed to salvage my team decently.
Nash/Kareem pick and rolls should works brilliantly with Kareems ability and willingness to pass the ball and Thabo, Gallo, Ibaka all exceptional floor spacers for them to work
Kareem/Ibaka/Thabo are all excellent defenders who can help cover the deficiencies of Nash as well,.
Bench is nasty with Exum/OG Anunoby/Domantas Sabonis

Ok, I will admit that Jokic is actually a US Citizen.

Ok, sharing my comments on each team, first batch
Flaco
+ even if I am not sure I am buying all the 3pt numbers collected (Prigioni and Gasol had a bit out outlier years compared to their career and not enormous volumes), that's some ridiculous shooting around Giannis
+ I shouldn't give it to him because he didn't think a Magic/Giannis pick and roll would have been properly used Giannis, but a Curry/Giannis would leave Giannis in a 4 vs 3 and a runaway to the basket, that's nasty with that shooting around
- besides Giannis, I am not impressed by the defensive personnel there, a bit too many weak links. Not sure about Pau's mobility at that age and same for Dieng
- it might be not as important because of the amount of spacing, but I am not sure the passing and decision making is top notch in the primary action
- he stole Prigioni to me!!!
Vote: 8
Fadeaway_J
+ the amount of shot makers there is incredible, even if that version of Kawhi was not the creator he became later
+ having Luka + Gasol + Diaw means that you'll have great passing and smart passing
+ almost peak defensive Kawhi and Gasol
+ great shooting
- not sure the defense is absolutely top level, might have limited mobility and athleticism out of Kawhi
- INSERT UDOKA JOKE HERE
Vote: 8

+ Timmeh as non american is great, maybe the best non american in the pool
+ very big team, a lot of lengths
- not sold on Amare here as I don't think you have someone to set him up and he will limit your defense
- not a lot of perimeter defense, making Amare even more suspect. Not sure Timmeh can hold that defense up
Vote 5
lilroddyb
+ a lot of amazing passing and off ball players
+ several smart defenders and elite rim protection
- might miss something in terms of wing defense
- some doubts about the spacing
- 18 minutes with Kukoc at guard scare me
Vote: 6.5
Dr Positivity
+ top star level talent
+ Spain pick and roll Paul/Embiid/Nowitzki unstoppable
- Thibs style minute management because of a weak bench
- I don't like the Noah minutes when next to Embiid
- Would Joel and Dirk actually maximize each other, offensively?
- 2020 Jingles your only wing defender?
Vote 7

Re: All corners of the world - Discussion thread
Voting is now open. Everyone is free to cast their ballot regardless of whether they participated in the game. You cannot vote for your own team. Please rank the participating teams in descending order (from best team to worst team). Voting will close on Thursday 1 PM EST. The top 4 teams qualify for the semifinals. I will announce the results as soon as all participants cast their ballot. The #1 seed will play the #4 seed. The #2 seed will play the #3 seed. Higher-seeded teams have home-court advantage. They need 2 votes to win the series. Lower-seeded teams need 3 votes. If two or more teams tie for the 4th spot, tie breaker will go to the team with the most #1 votes. If still tied, team with most #2 votes wins, if still tied most #3 votes wins and so on. If tied until the end, we'll run play-in game(s). If two or more teams tie within the top 4, there will be no home-court advantage in the games between them. For transparency purposes, I sent my ballot to Colbinii.

I knew Flaco would take Posey!
Miami, Boston and New Orleans while being a formidable 3+D.
