Not sure, but I think everyone else had their starting point guard by the time you chose. Still getting your stars is more important than your role players and I think you did the right thing. I passed on Bowen and Green because I was afraid you might draft Dame.

Appreciate it. I thought I did the right thing. And I was going to go Dame and Luka but then pivoted to Bowen and Luka, but ended up with Luka and Dwight. Still have a ton of FGA so we will see. I have had a plan-ish coming out of the 3rd round. Not mad with Lakers Dwight and rookie Luka off the bench. Both were still killers.

Aw man I am really glad I went Dame, since you were going to scoop him AND Luka. I was planning on Kyrie/Luka at the 3/4 turn but should have known one would be gone. They had a proven partnership, but I felt like I'd get spanked for Dame/Luka. And I'm still wondering why I burned my second pick on Kevin Love.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

No way! Van Exel was supposed to be my super secret pick lol

In a pool like this I gave up on secret picks when Finley went that early.

Happy to get Mo here. My starting lineup is set and he’s a solid 6th who can spot in and score/hit threes at efficient volume. Not a guy I’d normally pick but that’s gonna be a recurring theme.

My Gary Payton pick happened when I was at work, without any notes prepared, so I had to go off cuff, with a little inspiration from the Karl Malone pick. I had Van Exel locked and loaded in my head. They are very different players, but I probably needed the defense more anyway.

As for this draft, just wanted to say again - a really cool idea. We are wading in unfamiliar territory with these types of players which makes it very interesting to me and has been awesome.

I forgot entirely about Portis, nice add there.

It was an unconventional method of drafting for me, but I like what I ended with.

My bench is well seasoned - Lakers Malone, Spurs Porter, and Bucks Ingles.

Refreshing to see so many new players drafted as early as round 2:

Westbrook, Parker, LMA, Wiggins, Finley, Gallo, Bynum, Stephen Jackson, Josh Howard, Wes Matthews, Michael Porter Jr, Nick Van Exel, Mo Williams, Rondo, Brogdon, David Lee, Antawn Jamison, Anthony Parker, Steve Smith, Portis, Jerami Grant

Heavy restrictions result in unpredictable games. I think we should make this the norm.
