I'm thinking a quicker paced version...

I feel like taking a break from being a GM and trying my hand as a commish. If anyone else also wants to step down from GMing and take part in running the game feel free.

Here are some changes I would like to see but would like to hear everyone's input before we get the rules set in stone.

1. No trades allowed unless your roster page has all player and team salaries for both 2010 and 2011. Each roster page must be kept up to date with transactions, assets, waived players, pick restrictions, and any money owed on what may appear an unguaranteed contract or I will not approve proposed trades.

2. There will be 2 categories for judging 'win now' and 'rebuild' both will be broken into conferences. The 2 teams that win each category will go head to head for their respective title. ie East 'win now' v West 'win now' and East 'rebuild' v West 'rebuild'.

3. Exorbitant team salaries, Injury riddled players, youth v experience v too old, will play a part in voting as will overall improvement towards each GM's desired goal.

4. There will extensions but with a twist. EVERY extended player will be BYC - 1/2 $ for outgoing & full $ for incoming. Extended player will not be allowed to be traded for 1 week. This rule will reapply after each trade. Same rules will apply to all 2010 FAs. This way you have to be truly vested in acquiring said player.

5. The draft will be in hyper-speed. Every team will have to send a list and there will be only 15 minutes between picks in the 1st round and 10 minutes in the 2nd round. Everyone will get to help figure out the best time of day and what day to run the draft so as many GMs as possible will be able to be online and make trades if desired. This may be split over a period of 3-4 days so we can make it easier for most GMs. We may switch this up to something longer if absolutely needed.

6. Pick predetermined time frames for each aspect of this game and stick to the timetable.

what is the penlty for "Exorbitant team salaries" and what will be considered "
Exorbitant"

Exorbitant will depend on more than just how much lux tax a team is paying. If a team goes over the tax to win a title and is located where it can be afforded it or the RL owner is not worried about such things will hurt a little less. If a smaller market team with tight finances in RL goes a bit over to win it all it will hurt a bit more but not much. If these same teams are over and have no shot at winning it will hurt more. If a team is waaay over...

I am still groggy so if the explanation sounds weird let me know and I will rephrase it when I am more functional.

Salary Cap: $58.000,000
Minimum Salaries: $43,000,000
Luxury Tax Threshhold: $70,000,000

You can go below minimum in the off season.

will we be using these same figures when 2010/2011 salary cap starts?

I am not too worried about lowering the numbers for 2010/11 so will leave them the exact same for ease of play.

and

FA signings will start being announced in a couple of hours but I have some errands to run 1st.

Do we already have to replace a GM?

Honorthedead still hasn't posted his roster, so when should we start looking for a new Washington GM?

ALL ROSTERS MUST BE WITHIN the 12 - 15 player limit by MONDAY.

IF you are not within theses limits and post a trade it will be 'not approved'.

I will take the Hawks if there hasn't been a drastic overhaul to their roster already.

Last time I took over for the Spurs and the dude dumped half the roster for Bynum. :noway:

Welcome aboard azuresou1 you get the Hawks since KidFreSH doesn't seem to want a team that has been altered drastically.

Go ahead and post your roster in the roster thread. Make sure to read the rules as they tell you everything that you will need to have on your roster page in order to start making trades.

Here is your player list...

Vince Carter
Elton Brand
Josh Howard
Josh Smith
Mike Bibby
Steve Blake
Chris Andersen
Ime Udoka
Mario West
Stephon Marbury
Randolph Morris
Joe Smith
