Rotationally, one lineup plays exactly 30 minutes together and the other exactly 18 minutes together. Substitutions only take place as collective units, so lineup compatibility is important.

The premise would really shake things up in that it places more emphasize on depth and a bit less on top-end talent. Some of the schmucks that get relegated to 8 min off the bench probably wouldn't be viable for a full 18 minutes, and no longer would we have the option of playing LeBron/MJ etc 40+ min.

What do you guys think?

That could have some traction. Would certainly be unique. Perhaps a good change of pace. Bring it up towards the end of my game?

For sure. I was thinking 110 fga to keep with the 11 fga/player, and also that lineups aren't set in stone (can be adjusted based on matchup).

But yeah I'll resurrect this convo in a few days.

Throwing this out - assume the second units meet head to head? Could make some interesting match-ups and increases the focus on the second units, which is the idea.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I don't think we should start ANY game until both of these playoffs wrap up. It's excruciating.

August, no basketball, forum outage, it has been a rough stretch for activity here

Doesn't help that half the participants disappear after the draft...

How about your first pick is an mvp and the rest of your team is allnba selections. Post merger but can have one player pre merger.

Technically it would really be 1999-2001...

Doesn't seem viable for 12+ drafters either way.

I like it. It's simple and limited selections bring different guys into play.

Maybe a draft where all years are eligible as long as you can find a photo of the player eating a hot dog (and post the pic)

Only players who played at least one game in all four years of college. Post merger, 88FGA, and no other restrictions. Ever been done?

Sounds like a good one. Don't think is been done before. Choosing from players that played full four years of college kids a good change up.
