everyone drafts pool of 4 players he would most like to have but someone else drafts for him one guy

so lets say the guy with the first pick selects these 4 guys ( Lebron, Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant and Tim Duncan ) and guy that drafts next can't select any of these 4 so he selects these 4 ( Shaq, Bird, Magic and Kawhi ) then when everyone has chosen the 4 guys the guy that drafts last picks for each guy one of these 4 players.

so for the guy with first pick he selects Tim Duncan (Lebron, Jordan and Durant are now out of the draft and cant be picked by anyone ) for the next guy he selects Kawhi and Shaq,Bird,Magic cant be picked by anyone and so on and so on

I think this could be fun because you can't get exactly what you want but you sill control most of your team by selection of 4 players. You must choose carefully the 4 guys you want because the drafter thats drafts for you wants to make your team as bad as possible so he has more chances to win. and lastly each player selects 4 players means that the player pool will quickly dry up and we will draft players that are not drafted often

so lets say we have 8 guys participating then in first round the guy with the last pick drafts for every player, in the second round the guy with the 7th pick drafts for every player.

not sure if this makes sense lol

I like the concept but instead of having the last person in the round pick for everyone, why not just have

Player 1: Nominates 4 players
Player 2: Selects Player 1's player, then nominates his own 4 players
Player 3: Selects Player 2's player, nominates his own 4,

etc.

This would also eliminate less players since he could nominate ones for himself the 3 players player 1 didn't get

This concept sounds different and possibly a good one.

I like this, too. Next drafter picks and all go back in the pool.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later

Any thoughts on a 1970s draft? No three pointers, maybe NBA only.

Took the plunge on a sealed bid auction. We'll see how much interest there is.

Since there's such few players in the current auction draft think we can have another draft game happening.

Who would be interested in participating?

I was thinking about the auction concept and if it was a small pool like 2021 seasons, we could price basically everyone ahead of time (at a certain point everyone below a certain level is $1). This would make up for the fact that single seasons draft are so top heavy since you would be paying a premium for someone like Giannis.

Since this is similar to Laimbeer's current game, I would go with the pre priced idea but do it in a season like 2009 or 1993 or something

First draft at pricing for 2009 players over $10, thoughts? ($100 rosters, no FGA)

Spoiler:
Lebron - $70
Dirk - $60
Wade - $60
Kobe - $60
Paul - $60
Dwight - $50
Duncan - $50
Nash - $40
Garnett - $40
Pierce - $30
Billups - $25
Allen - $25
Pau - $25
Roy - $20
Yao - $20
Deron - $20
Parker - $15
Granger - $15
Manu $15
Rashard - $15
Melo - $15
Durant - $15
Bosh - $15
West - $10
Shaq - $10
Amare - $10
Odom - $10
Kidd - $10
Rondo - $10
Vince - $10
Joe - $10
Kevin Martin - $10
Hamilton - $10
Battier - $10
Marion - $10

Deng - $10
Iguodala - $10
Gerald Wallace - $10
LMA - $10
Rasheed - $10

Went high for the superstars but it's such a clear dropoff, in a regular draft someone's first round pick would be Pierce or something.

We could also do non draft game if we wanted

I don't think you went too high for the stars. We need to ask ourselves this - given these prices, would we still pick LeBron first, then Dirk/Wade/Kobe, or would we seriously consider passing on them? If we get to that point it's a really interesting/different game.

Throwing out a fairly simple idea: a California-Texas-Florida draft. Would probably be best with a full 16 as those nine franchises are absolutely stacked, even if you go 90s to now.

Is GMAT still a thing on this board? New season is approaching so it may be a good idea to start one?

Not bad but sticking with the state/area, a one division only draft?

A WC champions or EC champions draft, 1980 onwards?

I like this idea. You could also do both at once with the stipulation that all your players have to be one conference or the other.

I think you can do this from the Merger. I like Fadeaways stipulation of doing either but each drafter sticks to one conference or the other.

Probably have done something like this before, but maybe just a game where you can only pick 3 franchises.

Everyone who has both an MVP and Finals MVP is ineligible. Removes Lebron, Jordan, Duncan, Shaq, Hakeem, Magic, Bird, Moses, Kobe, Dirk, Durant and Giannis in a post 1990 game by my count.

I've been watching the 1970s Top Team Tourney in the Player Comparison forum. Is there any interest here in a 1970's tournament? Or it might be held over there, with any our regulars joining in if they like?

Anyone wanna get one going? Finals almost over in old one and the recent draft is about over headed to playoffs. Time to get a new sign up going!
