Middle Is Fine Draft.

The teams that are in the middle in terms of most wins since 1990:

GSW Denver Hawks Knicks Cavs Dallas Bucks Bulls Detroit (https://champsorchumps.us/records/most-nba-wins-since-1990)

I think it forms an interesting pool. Interestingly, many of the regular 3&d are out. Nice top end talent but round 2 is less loaded than we are used to.

It can be an alternative idea if we don't want the 90s players game.

Maybe create a poll between the last three ideas?

I dunno. How many responses do you think it would get?

I'm good with whatever, I won't be running it.

I'll try it. I'll add Larry's exclusion draft idea

1. Miami Cavs
2. Bucks Lakers

4. Houston Toronto
5. Philly Warriors

How far fetched will it be to try the 80s players draft?

The problem with the 80s and earlier is finding enough role players.

It was difficult enough with the 90s.

Some 3 and D guys still exist but yes it'll be a challenge. Still have guys like Majerle, Cooper, Ehlo, Kerr, Kenny Smith, McMillan, Detlef... But yeah much more challenging

I personally would not be at all interested in an 80s players draft.

Era Representatives.

Each team consists of:
1 player from the 70s
1 player from the 80s
1 player from the 90s
1 player from the 00s
1 player from the 10s
1 player from the 20s
2 wildcards who cannot be all-stars/all-nba in any point of their careers

This might work better as a pairs draft

Speaking of Pairs Draft, the last few years we've done a Christmas Day draft that starts a little before Christmas.

It's a Pairs Draft using the Christmas Day matchups as a template. This year it would be:

NY/San Antonio
Minnesota/Dallas
Philly/Boston
Lakers/Golden State
Nuggets/Suns

I like this. Seems like a sensible draft to make next

Can follow it up with a new years draft.

I had two ideas that I'm not sure hold their own but can be combined into one.

Your team needs to be built of two halves:

4 players who have a relative that ever played in the NBA/ABA (can be checked relatively quickly via bbref)

4 players who weren't drafted in any of our last x drafts (maybe a hundred? twenty?)

Second list might take some time to compose, but if people want the idea, I'll take it upon myself to compose the list. Might not be ready for the immediate next draft

Don't know if this could work but you can only pick a player who has led the league in something in a season

So any of the basic counting stats even turnovers and any advanced stuff on Bref such as W/S, BPM, DPM, can even be TS%, FT% etc basically anything that is bolded counts

Would be funny asf coming up with a team
Li WenWen is the GOAT
