I mixed a real thing (being able to trade money) with a not so real thing (buying out players for free), so it may not work, and it may be a disaster, but it has potential to be another fun part so we're gonna try it
How would buyout work exactly?
Using Bobcats as an example
Are we allowed to buyout only previous CBA contract under current team. I.e. Diop?
Buyout traded player after new CBA, i.e. Mullens? (RL trade)
Buyout a traded player since in game, i.e. CV? (Assuming they traded for CV...)
Basically, you can now add money to deals. So like you could offer something like x player + 2M cash for y player or whatever. The max you can trade in one deal is 3M.
Another limit, is you can only go up or down a total of 7M. So I can't trade 3M, then 3M in a different trade, then 3M again, because then I would be lower than 7M. Same thing in going above.
Now for the buyouts. First, all buyouts must be cleared with me. What happens, is you take the total amount of money left on someones deal (so if they make 3M this year, 4M next, thats a total of 7M) and if you want to buy them out, you can take that much money from your own cash, "pay" it to the player, and you don't have to pay his salary and he becomes a FA. You can buyout any player that is on your roster, if you are able to money wise (IE, a guy with a total of 8M salary you cannot buy out with -2M cash because then you would go below the 7M limit).
Good questions.

By extension going to the limits, that means assuming i'm already on +7m, the highest i can remove would be 14m in salary (reaching -7m in the end). Thanks!

Re: GM a Team: Twenty Twelve Edition - Discussion
i'd like to just point out to GMs who are only offering the scrap from their bench as OTB don't seem to understand the point of this game. i know people like to build around certain player(s), but please also keep in mind you gotta lose some to gain some. no on will offer anything good for for eddie house (he got waived so i'm not trying to call anyone in particular out).

Pg: lowry, dragic, flynn
Sg: Kevin martin, courtney lee
Sf: Budinger, terrance williams, jeff adrien

Rondo just got dealt, but still have PLENTY of other players I'm willing to deal. Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett are all actively OTB. I'm not dealing them for pennies on the dollar. I've also got Eric Gordon from my Rondo trade. And I've got the LAC 1st Round Pick.
PG: Louis Williams / Keyon Dooling / Avery Bradley
SG: Ray Allen / Eric Gordon / E'Twaun Moore
SF: Paul Pierce / Marquis Daniels
PF: Kevin Garnett / Brandon Bass / JaJuan Johnson
C: Jermaine O'Neal / TImofey Mozgov / Chris Wilcox
IR: Jeff Green
That's my updated DC. I'm looking to deal Green+1st Round Pick for a good player. That package should be intriguing to rebuilding teams. Feel free to make offers on any of my players. I'm looking to make trades.

They'll get to the point where they'll move players they weren't originally willing to move. The more games you play, the more you like to deal. And as the game drags on, this issue shouldn't be as significant.
