Artis made All ABA 1st team. What are we doing about that?

Indeed. Went through eight Jordan scenarios, five Wilt scenarios and more. It’ll be much easier in the middle of the draft.

I had targeted Wilt and a different 10s player. I was surprised LeBron dropped to me. Then when I started going through the 60s and 70s options I saw why.

I can see that, but that wasn’t how the rule was intended. ABA should be included in that

Glad we caught this early. Definitely should be included, especially with having to pick someone from the 60s and one from the 70s.

Pretty sure rule obviously includes aba, or we just can’t select aba players since it said ‘the league’ in rule 1, not ‘the leagues’

Why pick ABA when only the nba is specified as allowed in the rules

I am generally pretty opposed to going center in the 1st, but I just couldn't find a suitable option to take with LBJ or the other guy I was considering. Wilt had the best partners available. I debated between PG and 2 other guys to pair with Wilt, but I thought PG allowed the most flexibility going forward.

I feel like historically, NBA and ABA have always been used synonymously.

Can we get a commish ruling on this CSF? This classification could have a pretty big impact on the early era picks.

As of now, only one league is included in the players available description - so the Gilmore pick would be illegal if we are assuming the nba league doesn’t include the ABA.

Oops, I thought it was implied NBA or ABA--only one all-nba or all-aba 1st team per pair. If you can change your pick, I would appreciate it. Sorry about the confusion, I'll edit the first post of the draft thread to make this more clear. Thanks for catching it.

If you can wait till Laimbeer to change his pick, I would appreciate it. His clock is until 11 AM EST unless he changes his pick before then. The clock doesn't officially start until 9 AM EST.

I was wondering about that.

Just a good lesson. If you don't make it explicit, folks will try to push the letter of the rules as far as it will go. It's natural.

And yeah, I realize it's a mistake to expect much when the clock is off, but two valid picks in a whole day is pretty :-?.

Lots of new drafters in this game IIRC so I think we might see a lot of 2-hour clocks run out...

Well there are only two new participants in pandrade83 and Prez who are playing for the first time on T/T that I can recall, but have played similar games on their board so hopefully it goes smoothly.

Definitely hope I can get my two picks in tomorrow although I have no clue what I'm doing yet. We'll see how the chips fall before pick 12, which is probably the worst position to be in, but it is what it is...lets see how it goes!

You have to pair decades like that for three of your four picks, but you can take a "wild card" pair at any time. So something like 80s/10s could be done, but only once.

60s/10s
70s/00s
80s/90s
Wild card
