15 losers will have to put "i lost to (winner's name) in a trade tourney because he/she is better" for a week.

sorry if i forgot to add that. he or she because although most are guys, there is a chance vintage could win.

Ya didn't have to expand for little old me, could've just given me partial credit for VintaGe36's performance.

Theoretically it wouldn't hurt THAT bad. ;)

And Cash, if that's the rule for this one, you should be putting that in your sig for the duration of this tourney.

RULES:

YOU CAN ONLY SUBMIT ONE TRADE. NO MULTIPLE TRADES.

Obviously one trade might not completely satisfy the scenario, but try your best while keeping it realistic. everyone is on an even playing field.

1. Kosta vs. 16. bness888

the warriors are getting off to a surprisingly good start and are holding on to a low playoff seed by mid december. however, marcus williams has been a detriment more than an asset. ellis' return is going to take an extra month or two than original expected...get the warriors a new pg.

8. MJallday59 vs. 9. nba_addict

vince carter has made it known, privately, that the complete rebuild of the nets is more than he can handle and would like to go to a contending team. make it happen.

4. randomhero423 vs. 13. The Sixth Man

andre miller has proven to be ineffective playing pg with elton brand much like their days in clippers land, find miller a new home.

5. DGrangeRx33 vs. 12. SimonFish

the guard glut in chicago has created a lot of hurt ego's. hinrich, gordon, rose, sefolosha, and hughes are just too many players for too few minutes. clean up the glut (gordon refuses to waive no trade clause).

3. JHos Hydro vs. 14. sterncohen

the kings have decided that they want to completely rebuild next offseason, hopefully clearing up enough capspace to go after a big free agent. get the kings capspace.

6. eitanr vs. 11. Gremz

denver is not looking like they are going to be able to seriously compete for a title this season, set them up for a future run at the title, ideally moving allen iverson. keep an eye on the payroll.

2. VintaGe36 vs. 15. Jud's Buechlers

the pacers are intent on getting rid of all bad characters now that they've traded shawne williams, only tinsley is left. denver has completely backed out of their trade with the pacers. find tinsley a new home.

7. ws26 vs. 10. skorff26

the grizzlies are intent on using their capspace before the trade deadline so they don't have to compete with 09 capspace teams. get the grizzlies a player not named zach randolph.

I'm gonna start by saying a buy out is still IMO the best and most realistic option for IND but.......

IND trades:
Jamaal Tinsley
Josh McRoberts
DAL 2009 2nd round pick(or whichever they get in the Williams trade)

IND receives:
Mike James

NO trades: Mike James

NO receives:
Jamaal Tinsley
Josh McRoberts
DAL 2009 2nd round pick(or whichever they get in the Williams trade)

Why for IND?
They shorten Tinsley's contract, at the expense of some minor sweeteners, and finish the cleansing.

Why for NO?
They pick up a PG who can come off the bench, help fill the void left by Pargo, and should CP3 go down(god forbid) he can come in and start.

The Blazers are shopping Steve Blake, why? With Rodriguez and Bayless ready to step up and play more minutes (both have played major mins in pre) and with Webster going down with an injury, the Blazers could use another SF as Outlaw is more of a 3/4 tweener. Roy is also going to play some minutes at the point with Fernandez racking up some SG minutes. With the Blazers youth needing to be developed, Blake is the odd man out here. Blake would fit pretty well with the Warriors style and he could also come in and start as he has proven he can be a dangerous shooter from outside and a good distributor at the point spot.

Kelenna Azubuike could be had with Maggette on board in G.S and will get the bulk of the p.t at the 3, and with versatile players like Turiaf and Harrington able to play the SF spot, Azubuike is expendable. Azubuike started for the Warriors a good chuck of last season and put up good numbers, he's good insurance on Webster and provides a lot of the same things. 8.5 ppg, 4 boards and 37% from deep, not far off Webster's numbers.

Now the Warriors do have Marcus WIlliams, but through his two seasons he has been inconsistent while showing flashes of being a decent player, he hasn't started or played any significant minutes before on a NBA team and can't be counted on in a playoff run. Blake started for a good Blazers team that went on an incredible winning streak during last season, he's very capable. Putting up 5 + assists and over 40% from deep last season, hitting 1.4 treys a game in only 30 minutes, his outside shooting complements the Warriors long distance chucking.

C.J Watson is a throw in here to make salaries work, with Blake and Marcus and Ellis on his way back, there's no room for Watson to get p.t anyways.

Steve Blake $4,250,000

for

Kelenna Azubuike $2,900,000
C.J Watson $711,517

3 611 517 x 1.25=4 514 396>4 250 000

It's big, it's ugly, but it works. Trade checker ID# 4780680

Sacramento in: Wally Szczerbiak, Eric Snow, Damon Jones, Lorenzen Wright
Sacramento out: Brad Miller, Kenny Thomas, John Salmons
Why: To turn >$25M in obligations next year into expirings. They have to sacrifice both Miller and Salmons to do it.

Miami in: Brad Miller, Terence Kinsey
Miami out: Udonis Haslem, Dorrell Wright, Daequan Cook
Why: They get the center they need without touching the core of Wade / Marion / Beasley.

Cleveland in: Charlie Villanueva, John Salmons, Dorrell Wright, Daequan Cook, Kenny Thomas
Cleveland out: Wally Szczerbiak, Eric Snow, Lorenzen Wright, Terence Kinsey
Why: In return for swallowing Thomas's salary, they get an athletic PF who can score and a solid sixth man in Salmons, plus some young prospects who can be developed or packaged in another trade.

Milwaukee in: Udonis Haslem
Milwaukee out: Charlie Villanueva, Damon Jones
Why: They need defense and rebounding, and get both with Haslem.

Memphis Grizzlies give: Marko Jaric
Memphis Grizzlies get: Brian Cook

Orlando Magic give: Keith Bogans, Brian Cook, Hedo Turkoglu
Orlando Magic get: Reggie Evans, Andre Miller

Philadelphia 76ers give: Reggie Evans, Andre Miller
Philadelphia 76ers get: Keith Bogans, Marko Jaric, Hedo Turkoglu

Why for Memphis:

This is strictly a financial move for them. Cook's contract is cheaper and shorter than Jaric's contract.

Mike Conley / Kyle Lowry
O.J. Mayo / Javaris Crittenton
Rudy Gay / Hakim Warrick
Hakim Warrick / Antoine Walker
Marc Gasol / Darko Milicic

Why for Orlando:

This allows them to shift Rashard Lewis back to his more natural SF position and makes them a more complete team. Losing Turkoglu hurts, but there's a decent chance he'll be on another team anyways next season, and Miller can definitely take over his ball-handling duties (and then some). Evans is an upgrade over Cook at PF and would fit nicely next to Dwight Howard, and Bogans is said to be on the trading block right now. Additionally, this would improve their bench, as Jameer Nelson would become one of the best (if not the best) backup PGs in the league.

Andre Miller / Jameer Nelson
Mickael Pietrus / Courtney Lee
Rashard Lewis / Mickael Pietrus
Reggie Evans / Tony Battie
Dwight Howard / Adonal Foyle

Why for Philadelphia:

They have added some more 3-point shooting this offseason, but could still use some more help in that department. Adding Bogans and Turkoglu makes them one of the top outside shooting teams in the league (and Jaric can hit the occasional three, as well). Miller is a key part of their team, but they would still have Louis Williams and Royal Ivey at PG, and Turkoglu, Jaric, and Andre Iguodala can all occasionally play the point. Evans is a solid PF, but acquiring Elton Brand means Evans is more expendable.

Louis Williams / Royal Ivey
Andre Iguodala / Willie Green
Hedo Turkoglu / Thaddeus Young
Elton Brand / Marreese Speights
Samuel Dalembert / Theo Ratliff

Salaries are from ShamSports

Grizzlies out: $6,575,000
$6,575,000 X 1.25 + $100,000 = $8,318,750
Grizzlies in: $3,500,000

Magic out: $12,929,200
$12,929,200 X 1.25 + $100,000 = $16,261,500
Magic in: $14,973,333

76ers out: $14,973,333
$14,973,333 X 1.25 + $100,000 = $18,816,666.25
76ers in: $16,004,200

PHI/CHI/UTH/GSW

PHI trades: Andre Miller, Reggie Evans
PHI gets: Andrei Kirlenko

PHI does this because they get a great defensive SF, who can run up and down. With a change of scenary he can be what he once was.

Lou Will/Andre Iggy/AK47/Brand/Dalmbert is sick.

CHI trades: Andres Nocicni
CHI gets: Al Harrington.

CHI does this because they get a low post scorer in Harrington. They also shed the salary of Andres in the process.

UTH trades: Andrei Kirlekno, lottery protected first round pick 08
UTH gets: Andres Nociconi, Stephen Jackson

UTH does this because they get two tough players who would be perfect for Sloan.

GSW trades: Stephen Jackson, Al harrington
GSW gets: Andre Miller, Reggie Evans, lottery protected 08 first.

GSW does this because they get their point guard they need, and a brusier in the post. they also get a first round pick, which is a plus since they weren't going to sign harrington back anyway.

new lineups:

PHI:
Lou Williams
Andre Iguoldala
Andrei Kirlekno
Eltan Brand
Samuel Dalmbert

CHI:
Derrick Rose
Ben Gordon
Luol Deng
Al Harrington
Jokiam Noah

UTH:
Deron Williams
Stephen Jackson
Andres Nocioni
Carlos Boozer
Memo Okur

GSW:
Andre Miller
Corey Maggette
Anthony Randolph
Brandon Wright
Andreis Biedrins

everyone improves and moves more towards what they want to do.

GSW gets their vet who can improve all the young players.
CHI gets their rental low post scorer
UTH gets two tough guys.
PHI gets their defensive stopper, and someone who can improve greatly with a change of scenary.
