I'd like to point out that Cleveland waived Matt Harpring thinking his last year was unguarnateed, however, it is completely guaranteed as things stand right now (since Harpring has met all the conditions in his contract that would make his last year guaranteed). So, Harpring's salary MUST count against cleveland's cap even though he waived Hapring a few days ago.

Someone please take note of this

Ian Mahimni is not a free agent, I picked up the team option to keep him.

IMO it is crystal clear.

I'll find the email later, but I also did tell you later on that he was partially guaranteed. Maybe you just saw completely unguaranteed from the first emails and didn't read the rest carefully. Regardless, you should at least look up the salaries yourself, if someone sells you a house, would you really buy it without checking the house and all the information of it before you purchased it?

I mentioned it, cause on a different forums, we were just talking about the King's finical situation for the next few years and it reminded me of it.

You absolutely did not mention it. You only sent 2 emails on that deal. The 2nd one was...

I actually realized I am getting back Cleveland's 09 2nd, and I also have Clevelands '10 2nd. I will have to wait to get a current deal approved if you want the 09, however, if you don't care about getting Clev '10 2nd, then I can post now"

That was it.

and

WTF was that crap about buying a house? This is a game and not so important. As I already said I will eat the $2mil if need be.

The first free agent signings are being announced

Golden State resigns Trevor Ariza
1st year - 6 million
2nd year - 6.3 million
3rd year - 6.6 million
4th year- 6.9 million
5th year - 7.2 million
-Trevor Ariza says that he likes the team that Golden State has, and he likes the job security. He feels that this contract is more than fair for both parties.

New York resigns Jeff Foster
1st year - 8 million
-Jeff thinks that he wouldn't get a better offer. New York has said that Jeff would get lots of playing time, and he thinks that he could capitalize in next year's free agent period with a long contract.

Memphis resigns Ramon Sessions
Year 1: $8,000,000
Year 2: $7,200,000
Year 3: $6,480,000
Year 4: $7,200,000
Year 5: $6,480,000 (Player Option)
-Ramon likes the contract that he got and is very glad to be in Memphis. Also next time that he is up for free agency; he'll still be young enough to receive a max contract.

The Lakers have resigned 3 of their players from last year

The Lakers have resigned Lamar Odom
Year 1: $10M
Year 2: $11M
Year 3: $12M
-Odom feels very comfortable in LA. He loves the makeup of the team and believes that they will be a contender. He feels that he might have made a little bit more on the open market, but the chance to stay in LA at a good price was to good to pass up.

The Lakers have resigned Ime Udoka
Year 1: $1.5M
-Udoka likes LA and likes the Laker team. He didn't think that he would make more on the open market so he decided to stay in LA

The Lakers have resigned Stephen Graham
Year 1: $1.2M
Year 2: $1.5M
-Graham likes playing in LA also. He also is happy to accept a 2 year guaranteed deal above the league minimum. He wants to play in the NBA and the Lakers are offering him the chance for the next 2 years.

Mike Bibby has decided to resign with Cleveland
Year 1 - $10M
Year 2 - $10M
Year 3 - $10M (player option)
Year 4 - $10M
-Mike is happy to stay in Cleveland. He feels that Cleveland will be one of the favorites to win it all. Mike was hoping for at least $10M in free agency; and he was very happy to accept Cleveland's offer

Los Angeles Lakers have decided to resign Josh Powell.
Year 1: $1.5M
Year 2: $1.5M
Year 3: $1.5M (player option)
-Josh is excited to be back in LA. He was happy to get a longer deal with decent money for a backup.

Cleveland has signed Stephon Marbury
year 1 $4,000,000
year 2 $4,000,000
-Stephon is elated to be playing on such a quality franchise as Cleveland, and he is hoping that he can contribute and win an NBA title.
Note: Cleveland has 1.819 million left on their MLE.

Year 1 - 25% of the salary cap = 15,475,000
Year 2 - 8% increase each year = 16,713,000
Year 3 - 18,050,040 (Player Option)
Year 4 - 19,494,043
Year 5 - 21,053,566
-Andrew got the most money he could and signed the offer sheet. Andrew likes what Detroit has on their team and wouldn't mind if the offer sheet was matched by Detroit; but Andrew also feels that Sacramento has a bright future and would be happy to play their.

DETROIT CAN MATCH THE OFFER SHEET, e-mail me your decision.

Sacramento has extended an offer sheet to restricted free agent Danny Granger. Sacramento has offered Granger a max deal.
Year 1 - 25% of the salary cap = 15,475,000
Year 2 - 8% increase each year = 16,713,000
Year 3 - 18,050,040 (Player Option)
Year 4 - 19,494,043
Year 5 - 21,053,566
-He was offered quite a bit more money by Sacramento than by Indiana; thus he signed the offer sheet. Granger loves Indiana and hopes that they will match the offer sheet; but Granger feels that he is worth a max deal, and getting a chance to play with Kevin Martin and the young guys in Indiana is a great opportunity for himself

INDIANA CAN MATCH THE OFFER SHEET, e-mail me your decision
r0cd0gg wrote:I posted a question on the CBA board to see if a player option after the 2nd year of a 5 year deal is legal/kosher. IF not then both Bynum and Granger should be back on the market as the contracts they signed would be null and void.

i'll answer that right now. options can only occur when there is one yr left on the deal.

a player option during the 2nd yr of a 5 yr deal is impossible.

http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#Q50

"Options can occur only when one season remains on the contract"
So, I guess the player option in the 3rd year is illegal; thus these two signings will be voided.

Indiana has resigned Hakim Warrick
1st year - $5M
2nd year - $5M
3rd year - $5M
4th year - $5M
-Hakim likes the money and the years that Indiana offered thus he has decided to stay.

Indiana has resigned Josh McRoberts
1st year - $2M
2nd year - $2M
-Josh likes the security from this contract.

I am happy as a clam that I resigned Foster. My front court has gone from embarrassing to respectable in one move.
