Eh, then you're gonna have to beat 4/40 for Sessions

*Edit, changed from 4/45 to 4/40

I don't have to beat it....I'll just match it. And you'll have $10 mil in cap space tied up for a week, while other good players are being signed. But by all means sign him to an offer sheet. :)

Actually Sessions has the Gilbert Arenas clause. You can't offer like more than the MLE for him. (Opposing teams)

True, but only for the first 2 seasons. After that you can bump it up as much as you want. The rules are funky.

You can send in offers to resign your players now. I will start to respond either later tonight (hopefully) or tomorrow.

Also note to all GM's; a player will only resign if he really likes your offer, if he really likes your offer and is certain that he won't receive a better offer.

A players situation should be taken into consideration though, not just money.

It will be, but if a player is worth about 4 million dollars and they get a 4 million dollar offer to resign with their old team; there is a strong possibility that I would have that player test the free agent market (not just for money reasons, but that player may be a better fit or find a more skilled team to play for for that price)

Sorry I made a mistake; you can make offers for next years free agent class (2010 free agents) and offer extensions AFTER the 2009 free agency period; I misread the question; but extensions WILL be done just AFTER 2009 free agency period.

-Also when you send in your offers: include monetary amount, playing time to be expected, role on the team, and anything else that you think would help your cause. I will do my best to do what is best for each player based on money, playing time, location, chance to win, fit for a team, loyalty, and a few other minor factors.

The first free agents have begun to resign

Joel Anthony has resigned with Miami
Year 1 - 1,000,000
Year 2 - 1,105,000 (team option)
-Joel loves Miami and he loves the chance to play meaningful minutes for a quality team. He also feels that he wouldn't make much more on the open market.

Chris Anderson has resigned with Denver
Year 1 - 5,000,000
Year 2 - 5,000,000
Year 3 - 5,000,000
Year 4 - 5,000,000 (team option)
-Chris loves Denver and is eternally grateful for them taking a chance on him last year. He loves: the amount of money, and he especially likes the length of the deal.

Carlos Boozer has resigned with Utah
Year 1 - 14,000,000
Year 2 - 15,120,000
Year 3 - 16,240,000
Year 4 - 17,360,000
Year 5 - 18,200,000
Year 6 - 19,040,000
-Carlos likes playing in Utah. He wanted long term job security, and he gets that. He thinks that he may have gotten a little bit more on the open market; but he felt that Utah is a quality team with an emerging superstar in Deron Williams, a great coach in Jerry Sloan, a very solid supporting cast of players, and just a great fit in general; and he felt that a 6 yr deal for 100 million dollars with a solid team like Utah was too good to pass up.

-I will get to all offers that have been submitted by tonight.

Year 3 - 12,100,000
Year 4 - 13,150,000
Year 5 - 14,200,000
Year 6 - 15,250,000
-Marvin loves playing in Orlando and he likes the salary that is offered and he is very happy to be locked up in a long-term deal. And he is excited to be teaming up with Howard in what he hopes will become a dynamic duo.

Atlanta resigns Mikki Moore
Year 1 - 825,497
Year 2 - 854,389 team option

Chicago has resigned Ben Gordon
Year 1 - 10,000,000
Year 2 - 10,000,000
Year 3 - 10,000,000
Year 4 - 10,000,000
Year 5 - 10,000,000
Year 6 - 10,000,000 (team option)
-Ben Gordon turned down this offer from the Bulls a couple of years ago; and wasn't able to cash in on a bigger deal. Now that he is older, he has decided to take the money and sign. He really likes Chicago and the direction that they are headed and wants to be a part of it.

Paul Millsap has agreed to resign with Charlotte; someone brought up the fact that Millsap has been in the league for 3 years and not 2 so he isn't early bird free agent (my mistake); but Charlotte and Millsap come to another agreement.
Year 1 - 10,000,000
Year 2 - 11,050,000
Year 3 - 12,100,000
Year 4 - 13,150,000
Year 5 - 14,200,000 (ETO)
Year 6 - 15,250,000 (Player option)
-Paul is happy with the deal and likes Charlotte and is glad to be back. He got quite a bit of money... he could probably have signed for a little bit more but he likes the 6th year that Charlotte gave him.

Free agents will start to sign with other teams different than their 2008-2009 team tomorrow.
