With their first round selection in the Trades and Transactions Game Board All-Time Draft, the Houston Rockets (?) are proud to select:

Image

David "The Admirable" Robinson!!!

One of the greatest two way players to have ever played the game, an amazing defender, both man to man and on the weakside. Offensively, he's got the complete package, the inside game and the ability to stretch the defense with his mid-range jumpshot. He and Michael Jordan are the only two players to have ever won an MVP award, led the league in scoring, and won an NBA's Defensive Player of the Year Award thoughout their careers (an example of his versatility). We feel he's the last of the elite big men left, and had he just advanced in 1994, Robinson would have been picked already.

Season to be announced, deciding between DPOY, or MVP season, both in which include his 30/11/5 season with obvious elite defense.

With the 14th and 15th picks, I'll take:

Jerry West and Oscar Robertson

Image Image

Using 1963-64, 64-65, and 65-66 as peak years for both players.

Both of these guys are incredibly talented players, and will join together to form the best backcourt in the league. West's scoring and tenacious defense coupled with Oscar's all-around brilliance will be nightmarish for opposing defenses.

Walt Frazier

Image

He was the greatest defensive PG in the history of the game, and one of the most clutch to boot. He could do it all on the court and always seemed to make the right play.

1969-70, 1970-71, 1971-72

In these three seasons, Frazier made two trips to the NBA Finals, including one championship, largely thanks to his legendary 1970 playoff performance.

3 First Team All-Defense
2 First Team All-NBA
1 Second Team All-NBA
3 Year Regular Season Averages of 21.9 PPG, 6.9 APG, 6.5 RPG on 50.8 FG% and 77.8 FT%
3 Year Playoff Averages of 20.5 PPG, 6.6 APG, 7.0 RPG on 51.4 FG% and 74.4 FT%

With their 2nd round selection in the 2009 Trades and Transactions Board All Time Draft, the Houston Rockets are pleased to select . .

Image

"The Glove," AKA Gary Payton

Arguably the greatest defensive PG to have ever played the game, only Frazier has a case towards being better, or on the same level. He was a menace in the passing lanes, ridiculous man to man and hounded you until the opposing PG would give up the ball. And like Frazier, he's a big defensive PG, able to switch over and defend the SG's of the league (see NBA Finals, in where he guarded Jordan). He brings a toughness on that end of the floor, and with DRob on the interior and GP on the perimeter, our game-plan is simple, shut down the opposing teams offense. Payton wasn't a slouch defensively either, he generally scored 20 points per game, able to dish out 7-8 assists, and in his younger days very efficient from the field. He can also hit the three at a high volume, and used his size and strength to back down smaller PG's and score from the post. He's also not afraid to get into the face of the #1 overall pick of this draft

;)

Spartans pick

Image

KG is the dominate PF that can play with Moses Malone and to combine there def and rebounding into a dynamic duo. No NCAA experience required here.

I passed up 2 of my fav 3 players of alltime for this pick and Im a KG hater but I just cant pass up the perfect PF fit for Moses Malone

Selecting for CellarDoor, it's an unfortunate event to say that he will be picking. . .

Image

Sidney Moncrief!

Arguably the GOAT perimeter defender to have ever played, with a crazy efficient offensive, and all rounded game.

Selecting for bryant08, they are pleased and surprised to select . . .

Image

Scottie Pippen!!

One of the best two way players to have ever played the game, an amazing passer from the F position, an all time great defender, and an athletic scorer in transition and from the perimeter.

To add to TMac and confirm the pick, Moncrief is the most disruptive perimeter defender to have ever played the game, two time defensive player of the year. On offense he was amazingly efficient and fits well next to Bird for what i'm triyng to accomplish. I feel good knowing I've got Squid to take the best perimeter talent on the opposing team.

Bob Pettit

Image

Not only did he revolutionize the power forward position, he was damn good at playing it, too. Not many people can say they defeated a Bill Russell team, but Pettit did just that in the 1958 Finals.

1956-57, 1957-58, 1958-59

1 NBA Championship
1 MVP
3 First Team All-NBA
Regular Season: 26.2 PPG, 16.1 RPG, 2.4 APG
Playoffs: 27.0 PPG, 15.7 RPG, 2.2 APG

Alrighty, team Snakebites selects Artis Gilmore.

Image

7 foot two defensive juggernaut and rebounding machine, an effecient inside scorer to boot. Thrilled he dropped this far.

Together with Michael Jordan he forms the anchor of a ferocious defense.
