This is by season records...although they won the title, they were a fairly low seed iirc.

I'm going to go with David Wesley here.

^Oh.

I thought it was based on the 1993-1994 records, where they were actually division winners. My bad.

^Rockets and Bulls have a pretty favorable position in this one cuz they didn't have great regular season records, but the Rox went wild in the playoffs and MJ came back in excellent form next season... adding Wesley and Barros will be huge for them.

Finally getting this thing moving! Next picks should fly by with dcash, sam bone, and gremz all up.

If anyone knows how to check in with the Hawks GM, we should confirm if he's going to still be a GM or if he forgot to withdraw.

little confused, earlier it was said that MJ has not joined the Bulls yet, but we are using standings from after he joined?

It's January '95, so MJ comes back later in the season. He's on their payroll, they have his rights, and he's back before the playoffs. He may not be in the best form this season, but he's great next year.

I get that, but how do you then take the standings from after June of 95?

I guess we could have used January '95 standings but it's done now. Full season standings seemed pretty representative of where teams were in '95 anyways. The Bulls didn't blow up until the next year and the Rox didn't blow up until the playoffs.

This is the most fair way to go....

The Bulls and Rockets both went on big winning streaks after the allstar break If we went to Jan or Feb both teams would get much better picks. Of course my team would as well because they finsihed 20-12 after there 3rd coach was hired that yr.

my bad, I misread the Otis Smith/Drexler trade

so the Charlotte Hornets now select Christian Laettner

Chris Mullin for Gremz and the Indiana Pacers. Good shooter, underrated all rounded player, decent contract.

Selecting for bryant08 and the New York Knicks, they are pleased to select. . Bobby Phills.

Maybe not the best player left on the board, in fact definitely not the best player on the board, but one of the best fits no doubt. A very good defender, once making the All-NBA Defensive Team, and a lights out shooter from the perimeter. He perfectly fits what the Knicks epitomize in strong defense, team play, and good shooting. Main reason for choice over the likes of maybe more talented scorers, was that Phills is signed to a very reasonable contract, while the others are signed to albatross large contracts.

after MUCH deliberation, the Sonics are very pleased to select Dino Radja!

Radja may not be the most known name left, but he was a terrific player before going back to Europe to win a couple more euroleague titles.

Radja had some minor injuries and the Celtics shut him down to tank, but he was a very effective player when they ran the offense through him.

In '95, Dino put up 17.2/8.7. In '96, he put up 19.7/9.8. The thing that really set him apart from other players I was looking at was his relative health, his comparatively very impressive PER, and his overall fit on the Sonics. Radja was a very skilled post player with excellent range.

He should be an excellent compliment to Kemp in the front court and will give Payton yet another fantastic option on offense. Radja is capable of playing at the pace the Sonics favored and has a lot of big game experience, having won a gold metal in '88.

The Orlando Magic select Chris Mills.

Again, there may have been more talented players still on the board, but Mills is on a rookie contract, is a solid rotation player, and can play nice defense.

The Magic offense doesn't need any help, but their defense was pretty average. IMO Mills helped the Magic at their weakest position, SF, where Dennis Scott missed 20 games and played about 24mpg as a shooting specialist. Mills and Scott will form a very nice SF tandem.
