You had the GOAT, I don't understand why you didn't give Travis Diener that max.

PG: Mike Bibby (28)/Roy (20)
SG: Brandon Roy (20)/Barbosa (28)
SF: Josh Howard (34)/Outlaw (14)
PF: Carlos Boozer (34)/Murphy (14)
C: Al Horford (24)/Foster (24)

Vs

Smillstown Homers

pg: Devin Harris / Monta Ellis
sg: John Salmons / Anthony Parker
sf: Rashard Lewis / James Posey
pf: Al Jefferson / Brandon Bass
c: Andris Biedrins / Joel Przybilla

Offensive Strategy:

Run the offense through Roy. Focus using Boozer and Roy in either pick and Roll or Pick and Pop situations to focus on getting Roy his open mid range jumpers which are practically automatic these days, or just as good, get him a clear lane to the bucket. In either case, I do see the rotation of Salmons and Parker getting quite lost in following him. Roy has gained quite an ability to get himself quality space in which to work in, and I see little here that can stop him. With no major defensive stopper on the wing, it's safe to say the way this series is won is with Roy taking a majority of the shots in this series, and hounding their guard defense with his driving ability.

Boozer will focus on playing a post up game when isolated. Keeping pressure on his man will hopefully lead to quite a few fouls for their defense and increase our trips to the line. That by no means should restrict his offense though, as he'll quite liberally stretch out the defense with range when space close to the basket can't be found. Biedrins can use his athleticism to hang around with Boozer, but I don't see him as being able to be a defensive stopper here.

Howard's operation on the wing will be to work over Rashard with aggression. Rashard will have a length advantage, but with no real ability to restrict Howard's movement, we'll look to take him off the dribble and focus on a scoring game that gets him to blow right by his man. I do expect him to be able to lose Rashard in traffic at times, which will help him use his range when necessary. However, as a general rule here, pressure is primarily what I'm looking for.

Horford's role is simple, and shouldn't be disregarded. Hang around the paint, bang the boards and look for the easy put backs. Overlooking him here, as we have seen in preseason and early season games, leads him to extraordinary scoring opportunities and fairly large production numbers. I do expect this to happen at times, with more focus being applied to our 2,3 and 4 positions. In either case of Biedrins or Jefferson, I expect him to get physical under the basket and push for position most of the time.

Bibby will play his stock standard here. Hanging around the perimeter for the most part, and keep a defender busy to free up Brandon to work more liberally. When left alone, Bibby is a quality marksman from behind the arc and always a threat when he's on. He'll take less shots in this series, but is more than capable of getting hot and putting up some quality ppg when the defensive slacks off of him a little.

Defensive Strategy:

Overall I'm not too uncomfortable with our defensive assignments. The obvious concern is with Harris and Ellis against our guard rotation, which will pay dividends for the Homers. What I do like mainly about it though is that it will remove quite a bit of offense from Jefferson. With so much focus normally on running an offense through big Al, someone is going to lose out with those quick, high tempo guards, and I do expect it too be him.

In any case, Bibby will just look to stay in front of his man where possibly, and try not to get lost in screens. Hopefully he and Barbosa can use their quickness to restrict easy access to the basket. Roy will have absolutely no problems with Salmons and Parker. He has pushed his defense to a great level and without and all star threat to defend, he will be able to focus more of his offense.

Howard will be able to stop a fair amount of Rashard's perimeter game. Stopping a fair amount of Rashard's range will halt his usual offensive flow, and with Howard, you have a guy who can really knuckle down on the perimeter and focus on getting the job done.

We'll look to use the rotation of Horford, Boozer, Murphy and Foster to man up with their counterparts in decent rotation. Hopefully in an attempt to disrupt their routine. Normally focusing on Jefferson and Biedrins would be a primary interest, but with so much of their play (I suspect) coming from their guards, the normal touches for Jefferson just won't be there.

Perhaps more to come later on.

I haven't looked to see who else hasn't posted yet, but I would like an extension to the deadline if my opponent hasn't posted anything by then.

It's just vintage...we can just give you the win.

My votes

Snakebites over Vintage by forfit

Cellar over Miller - Rose is key reason

Gremz over DCash - the Roy advantage with help from Murphy makes up for the overmatched PG matchup. Great matchups

Poop over VC4prez - Capt Jack is key piece to this matchup, but watching Agent Zoro and Nashy light eachother up was fun
2012 GMAT Christmas Edition : OKC Thunder

PG: DWill / Bayless
SG: DWade / VC / Grant Hill
SF: KD / MWP
PF: Ibaka / Landry
C : DMC / Dalembert / Kelly Olynyk

draft rites to Serey Karaey

midterms, and other issues, are getting the better of me right now, i'll try to get a write-up, but seeing as how people have already voted, and my write-up would be rushed anyways, I may just give it to SnakeBite, which means he didn't beat me, college did

You, are a statistical anomaly, no mortal should or could live the life you do, and not be sent into a coma at least bi-weekly.

Gotcha!

In all seriousness, do it if you can, I was looking forward to this round and would prefer if it actually happened the real way. If you've got too much life related things to do, well, it is just a Realgm Tourney. Definitely shouldn't be that high on anyone's priority list.

I'd like to hold off voting unless there is a tiebreaker situation as I'm still in the game.

Its gonna get real awkward when everyone decides to do that, particularly given some of the people who were eliminated are bound to have lost interest in voting.

Going with VC4P over PDM, Cash over Gremz, and SB over the guy who can't hang with me.

Oddly, I added the tutoring of two students and moderation of a second board, as well as the rough stages of starting a business to my plate. It turns out I can still go 36 hours without sleep occasionally, as long as I'm prepared for completely dead legs the next time I try to hoop.

I'm waiting to see if Vintage puts up a write up till I vote.
If he doesn't by tonight I will vote that matchup based mainly on lineups.
I am see-sawing on the other two as well.
I'll have my votes in tonight though.

I'm picking VC4P because of his balance. I really like Steve Nash over Arenas, but every other matchup goes to VC4P.

Gremz's lineup possesses a lot more hustle, in my opinion, but dcash has produced a team that is really well-built. Gremz's bench looks really familiar to me. I like the distribution that Gremz's backcourt has, and he holds the rebounding edge from 1 to 10. I'm going to deviate from the mod agenda and pick him.
