Future Draft Games

Right now it feels like there are a truckload of ideas but no real push behind any of them. It doesn't help that the board in general is really slow at the moment with people taking time off from playing. Even when I last did a poll there wasn't much of a response.

Yeah, many (including me) have suffered from fatigue. However, I think when we get to the 100th game there will be players. We just need the guys running it to decide. Atleast I'm excited to play once again

Sorry, a little brain drain and hectic life in general right now. I've sat out a couple recent games myself.

I'd like to see a 100th game and I'd lean toward it being traditional, anyway.

We can also do something like 2017-18 season with FGA and have a twist as well-you can select one player not in this season with the season being almost over in a week or so to be our 100th game too.

#2, because if you're hoping for some previous players to come back for one,we should probably make it familiar territory that won't require a lot of research.

You could also do one based on the current season and forget the FGA limit if you want something really simple. The talent is spread thin enough that the teams wouldn't be stacked.

Just my opinion, very open to all of them.

Not for the 100, but how about a University Draft? You don't select players, but a college in each round. You get the rights to all players who attended that college. Maybe four rounds, ABBB. Not sure if any colleges give a prohibitive advantage.

I assume (hope) you're running 100 and it's next? You do these things right. I think we have a consensus that something traditional like 2 is best. Signups might take a bit longer so maybe start that process now. "Tournament of Champions"?

Since there is an after 2000 draft right now, how about changing #5 to a before 2000 draft?

Yeah, I don't mind running it, and it is the next game indeed. Thanks. I'm counting that sign-ups don't take too long as I have already 8 people interested in this thread let alone. I'm leaning towards "Tournament of Winners." It does look like #2 or #5 is leading the way. I'm going to make a poll for those who haven't checked this thread out as we do have a little more time with the other game only being halfway done so far. Be on the lookout!

I like it - a significant marker and the pool is better. Not sure how far I'd want to go back, though.

What about going through 1996 (NBA's 50th)? Maybe allow one pre-1970 player as an honorary captain on each team, with the actual players 1970-1996.

All players must be in their first five seasons - I thought of how one of the appeals of a pre 90s draft in bringing in some rarely used seasons like late 80s Jordan, Malone, Drexler, Hakeem, etc., which led me to the idea of going first five years for everyone
