Re: GM-a-Team: Super Sexy Edition Discussion
Just gonna speak on a few things.
I think with this timeline being so short, that GM's are scared to make moves with the thought of not being able to recover with such a short time to trade. I think that is why there are not as many deals as normal. Just my two cents.
Chicago Bulls are now placing everyone including Rose on the block.
Derrick Rose
Stephen Jackson
Gerald Wallace
Carlos Boozer
Joakim Noah (Back in action Wednesday night)
Steve Blake
Brandon Roy
Matt Barnes (Back at practice this week)
Shaquille O'Neal
Luke Harangody
Anthony Parker (Once deal gets approved)
Christian Eyenga (Once deal gets approved)
Jamario Moon
2 - 2011 2nd round picks
Multiple Future picks
are all on the block.
Im dieing to deal.

Dont be shy.

Just because you aren't getting what you might deem as fair value doesn't mean you need to quit. Hell, I've yet to get a deal that I've actually gotten the value I've wanted. It might be taking a slight hit talent wise to get a deal done.

Oh, I absolutely agree. There really is no momentum to make deals and quite frankly it's a little disappointing. I think at worst, this was a good learning lesson.

I don't think that should be the case at all. You can still potentially make 14 trades in the time period, you just have to be active. I think a side of it has also been a participation issue.

Yeah you can, but if you're looking over your shoulder at the fast approaching deadline you're less likely to take a risk that you might take in a longer game.

I think it's working better, but that's just me...

I also think it is partly what I was concerned about from day 1...
1 category
Without as many teams going straight up rebuild it changes the dynamics.
Overall I love the shorter timeline and the only difference I would contemplate is an extra week, MAYBE 2 on the front end. Everything else seems perfect time wise IMO.
also
For future games recruit at least 35 GMs before starting so when GMs go MIA we have an instant resource pool to draw from and keep the game rolling along with a full roster.

Re: GM-a-Team: Super Sexy Edition Discussion
This is my first game, but not for nothing, I like the fact the talent is a bit more dispersed with parody, it's better then 2 teams becoming super teams that are unbeatable except versus each other.
I got a chance to look through the final roster threads from the last one of these and although I thought it was pretty cool and it takes a ton of work, creativity and talent to set up squads like there were, there were basically 3 teams that looked like 2K10 squads with trade override on and everyone else was either Cleveland Cavs level rebuilding or a Indiana Pacers like playoff team for the most part.
I mean you can't knock the guys who created those teams, I'm not, I actually give them big props for owning the game, but I'm saying.

I wanted to, but some people were impatient and pushing for a start.

Re: GM-a-Team: Super Sexy Edition Discussion
this is my first game as well. you get to find out what your guys are worth quickly, as i did, and if its not what you thought, you just have to settle for less. Like with Iggy for me, eventually i found out i wasnt going to get an amazing all-star for him, so i accepted a couple solid young players and a good veteran. If people are willing to play this game, then they should be willing to trade, obviously, and trade their main players to reach thieir objective. If they're not, then they shouldnt play.
A little more time i think would get people more willing to trade, but if they play this game, they should be willing to trade to get to their goal. lose some trades, win others, and everyone gets to their goal of rebuilding or contending.
i agree with the 35 GM's before we start idea. and id be willing to sign up for future games, im enjoying this one.

OK since ive been asking for days for the Mavs and no response... seems the commish picks and choices what the important issues are and has choice to ignore my request. I still would like to change so??????

SO basically you want to switch because you can't get some of the best young players.
If you want to and with Miller's consent, I'll switch teams with you once the most recent trade has been approved.

Re: GM-a-Team: Super Sexy Edition Discussion
Finally made some moves and accomplished my main goal and got rid of Outlaw
Now looking to mess with it some more
Pending all trades
PG - Harris/Farmar/Uzoh
SG - Crawford/Morrow/Graham
SF - James/Ross/Jeffries
PF - Smith/Humphries
C - B.Lopez/Petro/Armstrong
2011 NJN 1st
I'm looking to switch up the backcourt
But I'm only moving Harris for an upgrade
So I'll pair him to my first or another player
Get at me

my god there are some smart as**s on here. I dont really have to explain my self to you but just so you jump of your high horse... Thats not the reason. I have 2 options with sac surround evans and cousins with mediocre talent and never win anything or rebuild and go backwards.
