One bye would be 5 teams left after Round 1. Technically need a "play-in game" then go ahead with 8 teams

That or one team gets a bye.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

One team gets a bye doesn't work. We have 9 teams, so if one team gets a bye, after the first round of games we will have 5 teams left (4 winners+1 bye)

He had to go to 2011 Paul and 2008 KG though

Eh, those aren't peak but they're prime seasons. That's worth adding a MVP level player.

The irony is that even with Demar eating up 20.9 FGA per game this still feels like as tight and fundamentally sound a team as I've ever built. Even Demar makes sense in his role as an offensive hub off the bench, and the starting lineup is really strong defensively and everyone fits together nicely offensively. The spacing is impeccable too.

I really dig it- one of my favorite teams I've ever built.

Yeah I felt like I was taking crazy pills looking at Laimbeer’s roster last night.

I have no idea why Charles Barkley and his 14.9 FGA/G weren’t chosen in this draft. A cheap star going undrafted was a shock.

I started putting together a plan to take Barkley, even with Duncan and Robinson already drafted, just because the value would have been so good

It was hard to make Barkley work on a team with a frontcourt unpopular guy.

Barkley provides no defense or spacing, and a lot of people were stuck with undesirables with the same challenges.

Ewing, AD, Kobe and Porter also didn't go.

I preferred AD to Giannis for fit but I couldn't justify downgrading Prime/Peak Battier for 2014 Heat Battier.

Yeah AD was another big one. I considered taking him. Probably would have if I had a point guard not named Stockton.

I think Giannis is a better fit, fwiw. You already had Cousins and KG.
