We got through several rounds of the game with any veto controversies, and it's a shame that this one has caused so much trouble. So let me re-float a proposal that I think could solve the problem:

Replace vetoes with a mandatory 24 hour hold, during which time other owners would be free to propose alternative deals to the team that they think is getting screwed by the deal they object to. So, if five owners think Dwight Howard is going too cheap, the Howard trades gets paused for a day, and everybody has a chance to make a better offer. If, at the end of that time, Howard's GM still likes the original deal better than any of the alternatives, that's his call, and the deal goes through. If he really was getting taken, he gets a better deal from somebody else. No vetoes, nobody being told how to run their team, but a fair chance for everybody to prevent lopsided deals that unduly affect the results of the game.

This is fair, wouldn't mind this at all.

Pretty good solution. So this happens if more than five other gms say unfair trade. Not for every trade things would get slower. Now we would have to work it out if one person in a three way is getting hosed.

I like that a lot. That seems to solve the problem, I just wish we could've enforced it this round...

Game would I can win with my team then take your team and then beat you.

I am sitting with a buddy and talking about this game and he had an idea of playing a game which would challenge the best players. We would run through the game once rank and score them. We would then play using anothers persons team in reverse order. The person in last would then start out with the best team. The person who finished first would have one of the worst teams and see who has the best cumulative score. The criteria would be like now for the 2nd round. How much you improve.

I LOVE this idea and if nobody objects...

would like to do this right now with the Dwight deal.

and

WAS also can try and make the deal better as well

so consider this brilliant idea implemented as of now

we will start the 24 hour period as of this post.

good luck guys!

Great idea Stern. I'll be honest and say I don't like the Howard trade, but I don't think it is terrible if he really does leave, and I can't/won't offer anything better...well, maybe I'll try ;)

Ok just so everyone knows, here are a few offers I've received in the past hours:

1. Noah, Nick Young, Korver, Scalabrine, 2012 CHI 1st rounder, 2013 WAS unprotected pick for Howard and Arenas

2. D12 and Gil for Pau, AK47, Booker, Blake

3. marc gasol/aaron afflalo/mike conley for dwight/arenas

4. Bell/Perkins/Aminu/Hamilton/picks for D12

5. Nene 11.5 5 yrs
Bargs 9 4 yrs
Jason Terry 10.5 exp
for
Arenas Howard

6. Gasol/Mathews for Dwight

7. Oden/Chandler/Boozer/Butler for Howard/Odom/Arenas

(I was told to post these by the commish)

Just letting everyone see what Ive been offered and why I've taken the WAS deal. I copied and pasted these right from AIM/email. Nothing against these GM's either, just wanted to post these. Also know that in the past Dwight/Arenas has landed Wall/Green/Horford.

Just realize that you are trading for the 2nd best player in the league. The WAS offer is still the best, and I will be taking offers until 2 PM EST tomorrow because I'm headed out of town for the weekend. Feel free to offer at keeslinator@gmail.com, and I am expecting better offers. Thanks!

uhm Cleveland GM here, and we have lots of young assets we would like to consolidate to become young prospects with more upside.. we have the following

James Anderson - one of the most efficient scorers in college last season. 6'6" and drafted by the Spurs(so there is something in him that they like) in 2010..

Christian Eyenga - good defensive instincts, lacks shooting, averaged 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks over 7 games in January...

Babbitt - 16th pick in 2010 draft. good scoring instincts.

Kenneth Faried - MONSTER rebounder and hard working bruiser

if you got any offers, PM me :)

Roc, just saw that free agency is being sent to TMAC, disregard my email, I will copy+paste.

The Pacers love their new depth chart with the addition of Kevin Martin:
Collison/Price
Martin/Wright
George/Wright
Millsap/Warrick
Hibbert/???

We have a few holes to fill in free agency, then it is off to making some upgrades at key positions, mainly point guard and/or power forward. Point guard is top priority, though, because Paul is a capable scorer and a good fit next to Hibbert.

C - Dwight Howard / JaVale McGee
PF - Taj Gibson / Kevin Seraphin
SF - Matt Barnes
SG - Brandon Rush / Gilbert Arenas
PG - Chris Paul

Gotta move McGee for a SG/SF! Young defensive minded Cs like McGee are tough to come by so I'm looking for a pretty decent wing in return.
