I feel like Jrue Holiday was the lower limit of the calibre of player to theme a draft around, and even then only due to his relevance in the league as a two-time champ, ATG defender, and beloved teammate. FVV is a bridge too far for me.

Maybe a combined category for Charlotte/Atlanta/Washington, Philly is also friendly enough category even though his stint there isn't too significant. Does the No College one include non US born? Otherwise it might not be too friendly, researched it earlier. Does the lost to Lakers one require same season?

I waned to cut down the franchises to only the ones he was an All-Star/All-NBA player with, to make room for other categories.

The college category includes American and overseas players.

Lakers category could go either way, we could make it same season to make it more challenging.

Shooters chance draft.

Curry, Allen, Miller, Thompson, Bird, Dirk, Nash, Durant, Korver and Price (top 10 shooters of all time)
Any player drafted must have been a teammate of, or any of these players.

Or a punchers chance draft

Must draft a player that has played with a player who is know for punching someone during an NBA game
Barkley, Shaq, Mourning, Larry Johnson, McHale, Melo, Kobe, Camby, Reggie Miller, Jordan, Draymond, Dr J

Or a physical Rivalry draft

Must choose player seasons from the following franchises
Celtics
Lakers
Knicks
Heat
Pacers
Pistons
Bulls (pistons)
76ers (Celtics)

give 8 franchises.

This one would be too thin on its own. Maybe if we add anyone who also played for Philly, Detroit and Chicago, Portland's finals opponents

I’d make it same season.

I like it with fewer team categories..

I have to believe we have done it, but what about franchises that never won a title? Thinner than normal but we'd dip into new players I think. Also dominant players seem to be gone.

Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, Orlando Magic, Utah Jazz, and the Phoenix Suns
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I think the last time we done it was with Denver included

Opening Day Draft

Pairs- draft using Opening Day Matchups from the last 2 years.

Thunder/Rockets
Lakers/Warriors
Celtics/Knicks
Lakers/Timberwolves

Only 7 franchises but given who the franchises are its still a deep pool.

Did we ever do or re-do a speed limit draft? You can only spend 11 fga's through round one, 22 fga's through round two, etc.

Sexy market draft: Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, Nets, Heat, Warriors (1970s to now)

Pairs draft where 1st and 30th most appealing franchise to draft, 2nd and 29th, etc. and so on are paired together like:

Lakers/Hornets
Celtics/Wizards
Spurs/Kings
Thunder/Hawks

etc. until there's middle ranged teams paired together.

Comeback draft - season selected must be immediately after a season in which the player would have been ineligible to be drafted (less then half games played or not in the league).

The rookie idea could be narrowed to first team which brings in Kobe, Giannis, Shai, and Harden as well.

This All-Rookie idea might be worth trying

I would make it no First-team.

I like this one but we probably need 80s and on rather than 90s

It's a flexible premise.

You could also go back another year

Lakers/Nuggets
Warriors/Suns

Personally I'd prefer just going back to the 80s and keeping the original 4 pairs. We've already got the Lakers twice.

I don't think we ever did a draft of Players Who Ever Been Traded

Draft day trades are allowed, Sign and trade deals are allowed

Top end talent includes Shaq Kawhi Durant Dirk Kobe Pippen Garnett Wade Paul Harden Luka Davis SGA Nash George Penny Barkley Tracy Allen Dwight Mourning Ewing Pierce Hill

If we include the 80s we add guys like Kareem and Moses

One interesting idea that was discussed on the past but never done is picking teams and being able to use their draft history. You pick two teams and that's your personal pool. Like we did with just team history but then we had duplicates

For example, you draft Charlotte and you have access to Kobe SGA Mourning etc.

You still have limitations like maximum one MVP, maximum additional two All NBA and maybe that would do
