Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
The Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls have come to an agreement. In a trade that almost completely switches starting lineups Chicago deals Nowitzki, Hinrich, Carter, Nocioni, and Bass for Yao, Johnson, Battier, Alston, Landry, Mihm, Brooks
Bulls Salary out: 51,628,298 (*1.25+100,000=64,375,373)
Rockets Salary out: 44,122,576 (*1.25+100,000=55,253,220)
Special note: Landry's contract is not figured into this as we do not have the numbers on it, but it is completely impossible for his contract to be signed to any amount that makes this deal not go through since our parameters are 64+m high and we've already passed the low threshold.
Chicago hates to see, well half their team, go. Especially Kirk, but we feel filling a need for a true C and picking up valuable depth makes this trade worth it. While we give up the better talent at the top (i/t/o durability and talent), the depth and flexibility to make future moves is too much to pass up.
If I need to drop a player, then a follow-up trade will be completed sending Harris to Houston separately. Due to his minimum contract this is allowed under the CBA.

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
Houston accepts this trade
We are sad to see Yao/Shane/Rafer/Brooks/Landry and newly acquired Joe Johnson go but we feel like the return on this deal gives us a better chance at the title run now. We now move Pau to starting C, and Dirk can space the floor. Vince will give us similar numbers as JJ and Nocioni is versatile enought to play the 3 or the 4 which is important to us.
I already updated my roster because there is a very good chance I will not be back to my comp for a while

Trade 2
Lakers trade:
James Singleton
Nick Fazekas
Atlanta trades:
No one - As per CBA, Atlanta can take on minimum salary players without sending equal contracts back.
Singleton and Fazekas are both guys who would be lucky to be on 12 man rosters, they are insurance on your 11-12 men and will be wearing suits at the end of the bench. They would be immediately cut off the Lakers roster anyways since they have 15 on board already. The Hawks need to fill out their I.R and make 15, this trade is fine under the rules since minimum salary players can be traded without taking back salary. Not sure what the hold up is.

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread

i understand that some may feel that this trade is lopsided towards the bulls, but there needs to be room for a gm to negotiate a favorable deal, and i think this lands in that area.

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
The Dallas Mavericks an Orlando Magic have agreed to a trade:
Dallas sends/Orlando receives:
Mike Bibby- $14,983,603
Stromile Swift- $6,200,000
Randolph Morris- $797, 581
Devean George - $1,600,000
HOU 2010 1st round pick
Total: $23,581,184
Orlando sends/Dallas receives:
Chris Duhon- $5,500,000
Renaldo Balkman- $1,369,920
Channing Frye- $3,163,769
Raef LaFrentz- $12,722,500
Total: $ 22,756,189
As you can see the math works.
Dallas is happy to move Bibby and Swift to increase youth and round out the roster. The aquisitions of Balkman and Frye will solidify the frontcourt, and Duhon will be a very useful backup PG. The HOU 2010 1st will probably be deep, but helps to bring equal equity to the trade here.

Orlando accepts. We're excited to add proven vets to our young team. Mike Bibby will step in immediately at the PG position and will prove to be a great mentor to Sergio Rodriguez and Nelson. Stromile Swift and George add considerable depth to our almost depleted front court and their contracts give us the cap flexibility to pursue other needs in the offseason. We wish Channing Frye, Renaldo Balkman and Chris Duhon much success in Dallas

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
The Pacers and Spurs have agreed to a trade:
Pacers Trade:
Luther Head
Rasho Nesterovic
Brandon Rush
2009 Indiana's 1st Round Pick (Top 5 Protected)
Spurs Trade:
Manu Ginobli
Salary Information:
Indiana Outgoing - $12,161,538
SA Outgoing - $9,905,248
9,905,248 x 1.25 = 12,381,560 so it works.
The Pacers accept this trade. We hate losing a lot of depth but we feel a core of Foster/Smith/Granger/Ginobli/Ford will be a force for many years. Manu fits our style of the run and gun and also knows how to distribute the ball and get others involved. He is the veteran with Championship experience that we were looking for.
