GM a Team 2019-2020: Discussion & Rules

Post#282 » by Jalexjsmithj » Mon Aug 12, 2019 6:13 pm

Not taking it personally, but damn guys I’m pretty shocked at Minnesota’s ranking. No offense to the other GMs but I think I’m clearly ahead of Portland in the playoffs and I’m not even in the conversation... being behind SAC and NOP who did great jobs setting themselves for the future but weren’t seeming to be prioritizing this season... I guess already used the word shocking but that kinda describes it.

Imo Denver should have missed the POs. But now that they've reached the POs they're a good candidate to win it all assuming Wall and Durant are now both healthy.

Eh sometimes things come out a little weird. Personally I think my team is better than CLE this year but it is what it is. I get the arguments against my team.

That surprised me a little too since I assumed Kawhi was on a hella rest schedule, but I think both those guys are likely still out even at this point. Next playoffs is when they will have a chance to shine though it can take a bit to come back to true form even if they are able to get on the court all next season.

I get that, but you guys have similar plans and windows. I guess my expectations weren’t even in the same tier of teams I ended up in. That’s why I wanted to raise the question.

Lol, I thought it was pretty clear he was tanking and going for the Ultra-team with 3 superstars and a rookie that was a top 4 pick in 2021.

I'll post it here too so it doesn't get lost:

OKC claims

OKC 1ST (#5)
PHX 1ST (#28)
OKC 2nd (#31)
CHA 2nd (#32)

Also all these picks are OTB. Looking to either get future picks or combine these for a top tier prospect.

Everyone Please Update your Roster page for the 2020-2021 season.

Trading is reopen for GM’s with updated roster pages

Tier one FA & RFA’s are accepting offers from GM’s with updated roster pages. You must have proper cap holds. Ask if you need help

FA Offers must include the following info:
Players name (Michael Jordan)
Your Team Name (Washington Bullets)
What tier # (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5)
How you are paying (Bird Rights, Cap Space, Full MLE, Taxpayer MLE, Room MLE, etc)
The actual contract with amount & years

Example:
Year 1 = $16,000,000
Year 2 = $16,500,000
Year 3 = $17,000,000
Year 4 = $17,500,000 (player option)
Total = $67,000,000

Free Agents will not make any announcements until the draft is complete. Update your roster pages before sending offers.

GM’s voting for Denver were all over the damn place. Not saying who but someone voted Denver #1. Others had Denver in the bottom 4. I had them as a fringe playoff team with some okay rotation players & a healthy Kawhi.

Buddy Hield is missing on the RFA list. Also are the RFAs in the same Tier or when do they make their decision compared to the other tiers?

RFA’s can sign a good offer sheet at any time.
Team’s will have only 12 hours to match offer sheets.

Utah Jazz Depth Chart:

PG: Mike Conley (UFA), Fred VanVleet (UFA)
SG: Donovan Mitchell, Josh Okogie, Royce O’Neale (RFA)
SF: Joe Ingles, OG Anunoby
PF: Jerami Grant (UFA), Larry Nance Jr.
Cc: Rudy Gobert, Ante Žižić

I have some major FAs this off-season, but plan to sign most of them if not all of them this off-season. Looking to make some deals. See anything just let me know.

I honestly love what you’ve done with them, I had you like 2nd in the West off memory.

I feel it still lacks the offensive star power to make a splash in the postseason.
But it is a very nice team, and is that one star away from true contention.
After your first, you change, you mature, you dont just jump into things.

After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.

Difficult team, just do the best you can.
Update. Draft. Listen to offers. Use your MLE etc.
I honestly thought Caine would show up for the off-season :-(
