Contingent on the Pierce/West trade going through. DET and NY have a trade to announce.

Rodney Stuckey $1,687,320
Eduardo Najera $3,250,000
Shane Battier $6,373,900
Chucky Atkins $3,240,000
2011 2nd rounder

$14551220 x 1.25 + 100,000 = 18,289,025

Mike Bibby $14,983,603
Stephon Marbury $1,262,275
Theo Ratliff $797,581
Solomon Jones $797,581

$17,841,040

I really like Stucky, and believe he could be an allstar in the future. But we are contending and that changes things for me. With Okafor/West/Pierce/Iggy we felt that we need shooting, a legit 3 point threat similar to Ray Allen in BOS. Bibby is just that guy, a vet that is a very efficient and is the missing piece we need to contend. We dump Najera and get some vets that make our bench even stronger. NY got a steal but I needed to do this. This is likely the last trade for a while (perhaps some minor ones but nothing big) our team is pretty much set.

Okafor/West/Pierce/Iguodala/Bibby
Bonner/Ratliff/Udoka/Finley/Marbury
Jones/Afflalo

New York accepts and are thrilled to have brought in a young guard in Stuckey, while we did have every intention to retain Mike Bibby this offseason and begin to build a contender along with a bunch of young guys from this years draft to fill the bench we felt that maybe we should go in another direction. While taking Najeras and Chucky Atkins contracts are definitely not apart of the future plans they were an exception to how I have been playing the game.

San Antonio turns four solid rotation players into a solid starter at PG, and solidifies a starting 5 of:

Baron Davis
Mike Dunleavy
Nicolas Batum
Josh Smith
Zydrunas Ilgauskas

with

Leandro Barbosa
Michael Finley
Kurt Thomas
Steve Novak

off the bench.

THe Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers have finally agreed to a late night/early morning BLOCKBUSTER trade:

Bulls Trade/76ers Recieve:

Tyrus Thomas $3,749,880
Malik Rose (EXP) $7,647,500
Raef Lafrentz (EXP) $12,722,500
Sac. 2009 2nd round pick (Unprotected)
Totals: $ 24,119,880

for

Philly Trades/Bulls Receive:

Elton Brand $13,757,844
Caron Butler $9,249,980
Totals: $ 23,007,824

Why for Philly....

Ive been trying to get rid of Elton Brand's deal since this game began. I finally do for expirings and the cost of Caron Butler. I get a very nice peice of work in tyrus thomas who has been much improved this year. The pick is just a throw in. We will miss Butler dearly. I wanted him from day one. Hes a great player, from my hometown. Hell, ive played with the guy myself in real life. Good dealing with you Bulls gm. Your a hard bargainer.

Bulls accept. This is quite a risky move from my end as my overall goal is to tank  and save cap space in 2010 until the opportunity came in. Brand hasnt been healthy in the past two nba seasons. He hasnt been the same player he was during his Chicago and early Clipper days. Caron Butler is a plus save some injury concern as well. This deal also takes us out as a major player in 2010, something that wil generate negative feelings from our fans. We really liked Tyrus since his break-out performance early this year and we are considering him as our long-term solution at PF. We wish him luck in Philly.

Chicago Bulls. Win or Bust.

Josh Smith $10,000,000
Marquis Daniels $6,864,200
Anthony Parker-$4,550,000
Shelden Williams $3,395,760

Willie Green $3,388,000
IND pick 09 (unprotected)
PHI pick 09 (top 5 protection)
CLE 2nd rounder 2010
= About 28 mill

for

Paul Pierce $18,077,903
David West $9,862,500

Michael Finley $2,500,000
Ime Udoka $1,080,000
Matt Bonner$2,978,000
= About 34 mill

Within 25%.

Trade 2.

Leandro Barbosa $6,100,000

for

Shane Battier $6,373,900

I just noticed (sorry I didn't spot it when I first replied) that this trade didn't include the other pick that me and Detroit agreed on. As such, I'm voiding this trade.

Sorry guys, but it's not what we agreed on. We can renegotiate if you're still interested.

This trade is also void then since it was contingent on the West/Pierce trade going through and without those two I'm not a contender.
