Flaco mentioned this recently- but I think the type of game we're doing now would be interesting, but with states/countries of birth rather than NBA teams.

Only drawback would be the same team limits can feel repetitive

Those were crafted to nerf specific teams. They can be changed depending on how the countries/states look. Some protection needs to be in place to keep Jordan/Kareem from bringing picked together though.
I do broadly like that these restrictions keep teams from getting too insane though. To me a very deep pool only really works with restrictions of some kind on team composition.

Yeah I get that. The nature of the pool you're picking differs a lot here. But there are certain strategies that would feel the same. Like, targeting Luka / Paul / Davis / Allen / Reggie / Butler / etc (even though some of those names did drop a lot in the last game) as high picks. Don't know if we can fix that somehow, but I'm game anyhow

How about a game similar to the current one? About where a player was originally drafted. The difference would be a franchise could only be used once. We could dig up a few defunct franchises if necessary. Part of the strategy would be stocking your team earlier since franchises would dry up

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

We already did that last week.
The current game is a riff on that concept.

Maybe the move there is to restrict what can go into individual picks rather than using categories to restrict teams as a whole.
