Now that Foster has got a contract extension, is he still an expiring in the game or does his new contract take place of it?

Beasley/Samb for Bynum/Bonner

Bynum $2,769,300
Bonner $2,978,000

Total = $5,747,300

Beasley $4,314,960
Samb $711,517

Total = $5,026,477 x 1.25 +$100,000 = $6,383,096 > $5,747,300

Detroit accepts

San Antonio accepts.

It was hard to give up on Andrew Bynum but I could not pass the oppurtunity of accuiring Michael Beasley. I believe he will develop rather quickly or could possibly be an impact player right away as a rookie. He also gives me a true PF which is something I did not have prior to the trade. I feel that with this trade I can remain competitive in the Western Conference but also have a GREAT building block for the future.

I did not know much about Samb but from what Ive read he could potentially be a good role player in the next few years to come.

The Knicks have two announcements to make.

Announcement #1 : In order to make room on our roster for the reasons predicated by what occurs in the second announcement the Knicks have decided to place Kenny Thomas on waivers. This move essentially banishes little KT from the league.

Annoucement #2:

The Knicks and Indiana Pacers have a trade to announce.

The Knicks trade recently acquired Brad Miller (11.375 million) and Desmond Mason (5.3 million) to the Indiana Pacers for Jeff Foster (6.175 million), Marquis Daniels (6.86 million) and Luther Head (1.962 million).

I had a couple other offers on the table but I think this one was the best one available. It was out there in its most basic form for almost 2 weeks but because I was holding out for better offers and then got Bronchitus negotiations were a lot slower than they should have been. I am surprised at how small the market for Miller was. Only 3 teams really expressed enough interest to make offers. But this deal was the best of them all because the players I receive are better fits for my team.

The Pacers accept. We hate to lose Foster but with his newly signed contract we feel we may as well move him for a better player. Brad Miller is a fan favorite in Indiana and he has always said he wanted to retire here. He is a great C and great for the locker room. We also get rid of Marquis Daniels who has had some problems with the law. Luther Head is valuable to a lot of teams, but he never really fit in behind TJ Ford, AJ is a better backup with the defense he brings.

Detroit and Washington have come to an agreement...

Bogut/Bonner/Toronto 09 2nd for Butler/Young

Butler $9,249,980
Young $1,602,960

Total = $10,852,940

Bogut $6,294,307
Bonner $2,978,000

Total = $9,272,307 x 1.25 + $100,000 = $11,690,383.75 > $10,852,940

With the aquisition of Bynum(and loss of Beasley), Bogut became expendable and with the lack of depth and scoring in the backcourt Gs and SFs became the target. We feel we covered both issues with this deal as well as getting some extra playmaking and leadership that Butler brings to the table.

Detroit accepts

The Wizards and Nuggets ahve agreed on a trade

antwan jamison $9,923,285
antonio danials $6,200,000
DeShawn Stevenson $3,616,071
Total 19.739356 * 125% = 24,674,195

for

Allen Iverson $20,840,625
Anthony Carter $797,581
Worse of the NO or SA 09 second
Total 21,638,206

The Wizards do this deal because jamison was not in our future plans and allows us to move blache to his more natural position of PF. This at worst gives us flexibility with our salary cap.

Nuggets accept. Iverson wasnt in the cards for our future. Jaminson provides a positive attitude and a great deal of talent to add to our frontcourt. This is a dream deal for the organization

Washington accepts, Even though we had a better offer on the table, the opertunity to get a 23 year old 7 footer with the skills that bogut has was too hard to pass up. Especially with the huge hole that the Wizards have had since the loss of haywood.

The Miami Heat and the New Jersey Nets have agreed upon a deal..

Heat receive
Jarvis Hayes----- $1,910,000

Total: $1,910,000

Nets receive
Sean Marks---- $797,581
Jamaal Magloire---$797,581

Total: 1,595,162

Heat accept, we pick up an actual rotational player with a larger salary, something that we don't have much of with our current roster.

Nets accept. Hayes was unlikely to see major minutes for NJ (CDR, Thabo, Larry Hughes and Bobby Simmons on the roster), so it was worth shaving off the extra year of salary.

I just can't see how as the only guy on your roster I would have traded Bogut for is Rose. Then again you could have been taking back bad contracts to boot or something like that I guess. I do know that some don't like Bogut much though... eye of the beholder and all that. :dontknow:
